While most of us probably grew up eating iceberg lettuce, romaine is a much better option.

Per cup, romaine lettuce provides more than 10 times the vitamin A available in iceberg lettuce. Vitamin A assists the follicles in maturing properly for both egg maturation and producing needed hormones to aid the fertilized egg in the uterus. If your body is low on vitamin A, a follicle may not be able to function correctly.
