Definitely did! Do you mind if I ask if your wearing a shaper or a belly band? I'm about your size but mine certainly isn't as round

Lies the Internet told Me about Plus Size Pregnancies

I read a lot about plus size pregnancy even before becoming pregnant with this baby. ( I have had previous pregnancies that ended in miscarriages and this is an IVF baby so I’m no stranger to reading a lot of information online.)I was so sure that I wouldn’t get to see many of the joys that “skinnier” people felt during their pregnancies, or at least not anywhere near when they do. But I’m here to tell you that is not always true. I’m 5’9 and started at 335. Lost 5 pounds the first trimester, and have been stable at 330 since. I try to eat healthy meals but I still enjoy small treats almost daily for my sweet tooth. Bump Progression Photos - I was hesitant to start taking bump photos because I carry a lot of weight in my stomach and I was embarrassed that I would just look fatter. I started at 15 weeks despite my hesitation, and I’m so glad I did! I wish I had started sooner! I can see the progress in the past 4 weeks and I’m loving seeing the growth. ( I wear belly bands or maternity leggings to help smooth my stomach.) Ultrasounds - I was so afraid that when I started getting ultrasounds they would shame me for being fat, and not be able to see anything. But they found my baby boy right away without any problems. I hold up my tummy fat to make it easier but no one says anything or makes me feel bad. And I don’t care about having to hold up my fat when I’m watching my little man squirm happily on the screen. Dopplers - The doctor found my baby on the Doppler in the office at 15 weeks, and when I mentioned that I was nervous about them maybe not being able to find it she mentioned that sometimes it’s hard to find them with women at any size, and that I shouldn’t be so worried it would be due to my size. Complications - I assumed I would have gestational diabetes for no other reason than I am fat. 🤦🏻‍♀️ But I passed the first Glucose test without any problems. ( which I did have to take cause of my BMI) and I’m feeling confident that the next one at 23 weeks won’t be a problem either. I just assumed I would fail the first one but nope. Fetal Movement - The most exciting surprise has been that I started feeling my son move at 16 weeks. Just little movements at first but starting my 17 week I feel him everyday. And not just little movements. He’s having a party in there! I was so sure I wouldn’t get to feel him until past 20 weeks cause that’s what I had heard on the internet but I’m so happy they were wrong for me! Even my husband has been able to feel some of the strong kicks/punches that pop out of my tummy. ( I wasn’t expecting him to be able to feel the baby until close to 25 weeks) Maternity Photos - I was on the fence about taking maternity photos closer to my due date, but now I’m excited. I can’t wait to memorialize this magical experience! Moral of this long post is that your starting weight does not define your pregnancy. So take the bump photo (if for no one but yourself) don’t be anxious about appointments due to your size. (If a doctor/practice makes you feel bad about yourself find a new doctor). Don’t put assumptions on yourself or your pregnancy due to your size cause complications can occur at any size, or you could have complications free pregnancy. Don’t fall into the trap I did of thinking that my weight would dictate my pregnancy. *Disclamer* my experience does not mean you will be the same, but it doesn’t mean it can’t be like mine either 🤷🏻‍♀️

Plus-Size Pregnancy

My husband and I are thinking of trying for another bubba, but I’m terrified because I am plus size. I weigh 127kg (approx 279 pounds) this is the biggest I have been and got here after my 4th pregnancy. Three with me here and one in heaven.Hoping to get some reassurance from other gorgeous plus size mummas that being plus size and pregnant will be ok ❤️

That's about what I was when I was pregnant with my daughter and had a perfectly normal pregnancy, she's a healthy thriving 3 year old now. I had a miscarriage before and after her. I'm now 36+5 with my second and weigh a whole lot more, was just over 300lbs when I got pregnant, but so far I've had a pretty smooth pregnancy with no complications, I've only gained about 10 lbs which is what my ob has been monitoring just to make sure I don't gain too much. It helps to find a size friendly ob who doesn't just pass off you weightht as being the cause of any issues.

Plus size mama’s

When did you start feeling baby movements? I’m 19 weeks and I haven’t felt baby move yet. Also when did you notice when you started to show? This is my first baby so this is all so new to me!

I am pregnant with twins. I got off the pill and 2 months later I got pregnant. I was 34 years old (now 35) and 300 lbs. I’m now 35+4. No gestational diabetes, no preeclampsia. My babies are 13 lbs combined right now and I have gained 19 lbs.

High blood pressure

I’ve had borderline high blood pressure that I’ve been monitoring for sometime now. I just got a positive pregnancy test and my OB said B/P meds may be the best case scenario for me.Has anyone been on B/P meds during pregnancy. Did you have any complications from the medications?

I’m not on bp meds but my doctor did tell me to start taking 81 mg of baby aspirin a day to try to help keep my blood pressure under control. I haven’t had any problems I don’t think.

Jan 4th Due Date - First time plus sized Mom

Hi!!! We have been trying for a baby for about 7 months and I am finally pregnant!! Estimated due date is Jan 4th which is pretty funny because my birthday is Jan 9th. Just want to say hi and see who else is in the same boat as me as a plus sized mom to be.

Plu size maternity shorts

I found cute denim plus size maternity shorts on Walmart’s website by the brand Oh! Mamma Maternity they’re really comfy and inexpensive (like $15). I know how hard it is to find maternity shorts in plus size so I had to share!

Thank you!

Weight gain

I’m curious what you guys think about this. So I am 264. (5’7) when I got pregnant. (12 weeks 2 days today) My doctor has mentioned I need to be gaining weight though for 12 weeks i’ve lost a couple pounds. Are weight gain numbers different for plus size women? Or are we still supposed to gain 25 lbs?

PLUS BUMP PICS PLEASE

I am currently TTC, I am 6 feet tall 300 pounds. I would LOVE to see all your bumps! I just want to know what I may look like, and I hate that all you see online is smaller bodies. Also, baby dust to all who see this ❤️

Don’t mind my counter or face lol but I’m 5’3” at somewhere between 200-210lbs. I’ll be 21 weeks tomorrow.

Troubles feeling excited

I’m 18+1 today. I’ve lost about 15lb since the beginning of my pregnancy, I have no round belly, and I haven’t felt kicks. It’s as if I don’t even have a baby in there but I’m sick all the time. Baby is fine and healthy according to the doctor, I’m just emotionally having a rough time with it.Anyone else going through this? Picture taken this morning.

I'm in a similar boat. I'm 15 weeks now and I've only gained 3lbs since I got pregnant in December. All I feel is nausea. No kicks, no butterflies, nothing. And I don't even have a bump because I'm over 260lbs. Every time I go to the doctors I'm scared she'll tell me there's no baby or something but my little panda bear is growing and thriving and I'm glad I just wish I had something to show for it 🤷🏽‍♀️

We did it!

We’ve been together for 6+ years, supposed to be married last May, postponed and managed to get married in September. We had a chemical last month and I only ever had a *very* faint line. Woke up early this morning after being bloated as ever for the past week and just feeling blah, peed — BFP! I bought these little moccasins last month in the excitement and have just been staring at them while I waited after trying again. It’s so early and I’m so scared and all around have no idea how to feel, but here we are! I want to tell everyone ha!This was this afternoon.First thing this am.

I like to get frozen mixed berries and eat them frozen with a spoon. It takes a long time to eat a cup. Every pregnancy I also crave salt and canned soups taste like the best thing ever. Low ish calories but take a while to eat.

Sweet tea?

Hi everyone! I just found out I’m pregnant with my first. ❤️❤️❤️ I’m obsessed with sweet tea, but know I should lower my caffeine intake now. How many ounces is okay to drink? I feel silly calling my OB to ask this lol. Since I found out I’ve only been drinking about 32oz a day. Not sure if that’s too much 🥴

I looked online and 200 milligrams per day is ok 👍🏼 and I have never in my life drunk as much iced tea as I have since I got pregnant 😂 at this point I just need an IV of Pure Leaf and then maybe I'll be satisfied lol
