I hate Covid . . . !

Ladies, I just need a minute to vent. Our state is seeing a rise in numbers and slowly, but surely, every business around us is starting to require masks. I’m a teacher and have been some since March, so the kids have been home with me. Lately, the stress and anxiety associated with the unknowns of what will happen in Fall (districts are still deciding) and making sure that I’m protecting myself and my family is exhausting. I started searching for child masks with dinosaurs on it for our Feb, and just had a total meltdown. I’m in tears, sobbing, bc while I knew our world wasn’t perfect when I brought him into it, I would have never in my wildest imagination visualized that his early years and silly smiles would be covered by a mask. It breaks my heart and is so unfair to him and all kids - to everyone.I know, I know. It’s a mild inconvenience, it’s temporary, etc. . . but is it? We don’t know.Like I said, just needed to vent; have a good cry; and move on. Ugh. Covid sucks. Thanks for bearing with me. 💙

Au

Hang in there mama❤️ it's all temporary and it'll be okay. I'm not telling my three year old to wear a mask (he's too young anyway) or even about the virus. In MY opinion, he's too young and innocent to confuse/worry him or make him think this temporary situation is the new "normal". I don't talk about the virus or why people wear masks, we just keep him and his beautiful little mind distracted with outdoor activities (sand table, water table, bubbles, swimming, hiking, etc) and with "school" (learning ABCs, numbers, writing, etc). It'll be okay mama just try to keep busy and busy with your little family❤️❤️❤️

What to do for sunburn on 3 year old.

Aloe and drinking plenty of water. Lukewarm baths until the pain lessens

3 year old meals

What does breakfast, lunch , & dinner look like for your three year old? My daughter eats a LOT so I'm curious what yours has to eat throughout the day?

Everything! He has quit wanting much for breskfast so its usually just yogurt, cheerios, hard boiled egg, or peanut butter toast.Lunch could be sandwich, hot dog, dinner left overs, quesadillas, chips or carrots & hummus. He has recently started asking to share my salads.Dinner is a protein (grilled chicken, fish sticks, burgers, steak, etc.) And a veggie. Broccoli is his favorite.Snacks are pretzels, dried fruit, nuts, gold fish, cheese stick, apples & peanut butter. Also usually has fruit with lunch and dinner.

Finally found his first baby picture from his birthday from when he was one. And being able to see all three photos side by side is awesome!!

Help potty training 😫

So my boy will be 3 Sunday on the 9th and still is refusing to potty train it is frustrating because he knows when he has to go and where to go and when he has gone. He was almost fully potty trained a while back no peeing or pooping on long trips or while sleeping and telling me when he had to go but he spent a day with my mom and she didn’t follow my instructions and he completely regressed talk about one step forward and two steps back. Anyone have a similar problem or any ideas please help me, my oldest was so easy and I also have a 6 month old now help!!

My daughter is 3 on the same day. Except its the 10th here because im in a different time zone. She refuses to potty train. I had my first baby trained by 2 she was easy. Now im gonna have 3 in nappies in 2 weeks. So not excited at all. But im detirmined to make it 2 asap

Potty training

My son will go potty when reminded (though sometimes he has to be bribed), will poop in the potty if he happens to be there when he needs to. Sometimes he will go days without a wet pull up. But he won't tell us he needs to go, unless we are out and about, because he likes seeing the different bathrooms. And if I can tell he's about to poop and try to take him to the potty he gets really mad and tells me to go away. He gets really excited when he uses the potty, he knows it's a good thing. He tells me when he needs to be changed. And he begs to wear his big kid underwear. So why aren't all the pieces connecting? Any ideas?

Put him in underwear only. It’s more uncomfortable when they go in them and normally helps them learn faster. Also I gave my daughter a skittle every time she went until she got it down, and she was potty trained by two! Good luck :)

Talking

My son will be 3 on the 13th. I thought he was doing fine with his speech development but my mom thinks he’s hard to understand most of the time and that he doesn’t enunciate his words well. I can understand him completely and my husband can too. He talks a lot and nobody else has ever mentioned anything about him seeming behind for his age (he goes to gym childcare and Sunday school). He does have trouble saying his r’s and l’s which causes some words to sound funny. He’ll see his doctor in a few weeks and I plan on asking her but was just wondering where other kiddos are at at this age?

It’s like that with other people. I understand my daughter perfectly majority of the time. Her grandma does too but I’ll have to repeat it for her sometimes. With people that barely see her I have to do it a lot more. I think it’s just the age lol. My daughter is in daycare and they say she’s super smart even though I still have to clarify certain things to other people when she’s talking.

Still napping?

How many of your almost 3 year olds are still napping? It’s been a struggle daily to get her down for naps and bedtime. Now tonight she’s been up 3 times. I’m thinking it’s time to give up naps.

My daughter still naps. Though, during quarantine things were different. I had to take her for rides to make her go to sleep. She was so grumpy without a nap!

Oh 3’s the worst!

Thought I’d share this with this group since we will be having 3 year olds next month. I was grocery shopping today and at the checkout line my daughter was picking out candy (that she thinks she’s buying but not actually) and the woman behind me says “oh she’s so cute, how old?”I said “she’ll be 3 next month”Without skipping a beat she says “oh 3’s the worst! Good luck” I’ve heard this before (threenager) but for some reason I couldn’t get it out of my head that 3 would be worse than the terrible 2’s, but now that I’m really thinking about it... ugh we are in for it! Our kids now know what they’re doing is wrong but lack the control to stop themselves and don’t even get me started on the impulse control (or lack there of). They say NO about 100 times a day and they know what it means now. Basically they are too smart for their own good and just bless all of us!

Lord help us is right! Just had number 2, 2 weeks ago and my almost 3 yo sure is pushing the buttons! Tantrums, not listening, throwing things! Argh!

Son isn’t speaking yet. (3 in Feb)

My son will be 3 in February and he is hardly saying anything. I noticed he is trying more frequently to say things but he won’t interact or answer questions or anything like that. He knows his numbers and letters and can say at least 30-40 different animal names. But it wouldn’t be something other people can understand if that makes sense. I’m worried he had a speech problem. He also has no interest in potty training yet. Anyone else having similar issues?

Have you considered maybe autism ? If you’re from California get in contact with Alta regional they will get you started with any therapy your child might need.

Curious 2 year old toddler

Ok so i have a 2 year old and she is always touching herself. I thought ok maybe she’s just exploring because she really doesn’t know what is what when it comes to body parts of those sorts. Whenever she has her diaper off or she’s on the potty she is constantly touching her little lady part. I try to stop it as much as possible but i also don’t want to give her the wrong message because she is learning her body as well. I know boys tend to play with themselves more as i have been told because they dangle lol but is anyone else’s toddler going through this phase also? And how do you handle it?

With my son tell him we dont touch ourself in front of people and if he needs privacy to go to his room. Sometimes he does but just for like 30 seconds and will come back out and go on to something else but most of the time he just stops. Except after baths and he is still naked. Then he runs around the house like a wild man yanking on the thing and making a point to show it off. Boys a freaking weird. Good luck to you with your girl!
