I’m about to write a long post which will be filled with info that may be confusing, but I’d appreciate anyone who is willing to read and help me as I’m in a difficult situation.

So...

I was in an abusive relationship with my ex (who is the father of my two children), and on 19th July I finally got rid of him. He and I hadn’t really been together as I kept telling him I wasn’t ok with taking him back, but because of lockdown I had him over most evenings and sadly we were still sleeping together (I judge myself). I was always afraid to say no to him because he would use his manipualtikn to make me feel like I was being a bad mum for not trying with him. We had slept together on 9th July and one other time a few days later. Both were unprotected but neither time did he finish inside of me. I know for a fact it was a date earlier than the 18th July though I can’t be sure.

During this time, I was seeing someone (which my ex knew about but kept sabotaging and wouldntlet me be with him which is why idalways go back to him). Well, on 19th when I finally got the courage to call the police on my ex for once again hitting me, he left and I had paramedics out because of my mental well-being. I was advised to have someone stay over each night for the foreseeable future to keep myself and e kids safe (I wouldn’t harm my kids but to keep me safe from my own head). Because of this I had my now partner, Rob, over and we began sleeping together. I know it seems soon but we had been trying to start a relationship for almost a year. Anyways, we hadn’t been using protection and on the 6th of August I decided it was probably best o start taking pregnancy tests as I knew it had been exactly a month at this point since my last period. I have very irregular periods that usually are every 5-6 weeks, so though I knew it was unlikely I’d get a positive I still tested. And it was negative. I used a clearblue week indicator which can be used 5 days early, so on the 6th August I was NOT pregnant. I then tested again 9th of August as i felt I needed to be sure I wasn’t. Again, another negative. So at this point I decide to wait another week, which I do.

I bought a cheap early detection test as I wasn’t sure when I was due on and it was positive. I took a first response early detection and yep, you guessed it POSITIVE! So now I’m freaking out.

Even though the chances are very slim, I just need some reassurance that this is not my exes baby. I’m not dumb. I know that it’s still possible, but I would’ve been getting positives from 2nd August if this was my exes baby and not Robs. I just need you expert mommas to reassure me the chances are slim. My positive test was 13th August. My last negative test was 9th August. So I’m not crazy am I? I would’ve been getting positive tests way before this if there was even a chance it was my exes???? Baring in mind, the last time I even spoke to my ex was 19th July, two weeks from that wouldve been 31 July/1 August. So the fact it’s taken me 13 more days I get a + means it’s not his yes? PLEASE HELP 😭

Just to add. My current partner knows all of this info and it’s not a secret. Regardless he supports me as we both have kids with other people. But needed some help.
