Dog troubles (long) – I don’t know what to do.😕

So we didn’t have a dog until my daughter was 6 months old. So we’ve had her for 2.5 months now. We took her in because she had nowhere else to go and we didn’t want her to end up on the streets or go to the pound. Well she’s about 6 years old so on the older side. She’s a pitbull/german shepherd mix I’m pretty certain. But the thing is, is that she doesn’t listen and I’m a SAHM so I pretty much care for her and my daughter full time all week. It gets hard because I don’t think she was ever trained and we try to train her, but it’s pretty much been a lost cause because she’s older and has already set her ways I think. She barks nonstop (normal dog stuff, no biggie), gets into the trash so we have to keep the cans up, doesn’t listen to me at all and I’m very stern with her, she tore up her dog bed, breaks out of her cage every time we leave and potties all over the house, I had gotten in the shower once and she had pooped all over my daughter’s floor🙄, and we’ve just had lots of trouble with her from the start. There’s more issues, but that’s just some. The barking is constant though and she wakes my daughter from sleeping every time. I love dogs and am very patient, but it gets so hard to look after her and my daughter at the same time. I have to put a leash on her to go outside because she will run off, bark or try to attack other animals or people, and if I leash her to the tree she can break it off. Plus it’s just a rule to keep the dogs on the leash/chain where I live. She is very jealous too, not an aggressive jealous, but she will get in the way if people are talking or not paying attention to her. She’ll shove into people and get in their face and we have to constantly be on her if we have people over or put her in another room even though I know that won’t help, it’ll just make her upset. She gets in the way if we are holding my daughter and playing with her and we’ve really been trying to correct this behavior because I know it isn’t good. She’s never bit her or got aggressive with her or got aggressively jealous. But the jealousy is a bit much. There have been times where I am laying with my daughter or have her on the couch changing her and the dog has jumped up or ran over to where I am and almost trampled my daughter all because I’m talking or singing to my daughter. She has gotten jealous and mad to where she’d go potty on our things. I’m just at my wits end. I don’t know how to correct her behaviors or try to get her to listen to me. She will stare and just wag her tail if we’re trying to get her to listen, or she’ll just continue what she is doing. We don’t hit her or anything so I don’t tolerate that and won’t. She does have a cage that we’ve had to zip tie around the edges to keep her from escaping or breaking it when we are out of the house.🤦🏼‍♀️ we only use the cage when we aren’t home. We’ve asked around if anyone around us that we know could take her in but either no one has the time, the room, or they just can’t have a dog. I would hate to re-home her, but I get so stressed out everyday and about have 50 million breakdowns. My daughter is teething, been very clingy, and hitting the 8 month sleep regression I think, so it’s super rough. I don’t know what to do. Does anyone have any training tips or how to get her to change? I feel like I need a dog whisperer lol. We do reward and praise her when she has good behavior. I don’t really want to re-home her, but I’m just trying to figure out things that can help correct her behavior. I’m a very stressed, exhausted person right now!!

I don’t know what happened...

My shih tzu just passed away. A couple months ago he was having trouble walking and wouldn’t jump up on the couch or anything anymore. The vet said he may have hurt his leg and to just watch to see if he got better. A couple days later he was back to his normal self. Now fast forward to about two days ago. He was having trouble walking again and was also peeing in his room a lot even after he was taken out. Today he was so off. We let him and our other shih tzu out their room and into the living room and then got them ready for a bath. After he was washed he just fell over and took a breath. After that he stopped breathing completely. We have no idea what happened to him..... does anybody know what could have happened??

How much does your pet cost a month and/or yearly? And should I get a dog

First off, I grew up with dogs but never had to be responsible for them. First few dogs were strictly outside dogs and i dont ever recall my dad taking them to the vet or groomers. They were loved big mixed dogs. Then one day we got a poodle, she went to the groomers i think every 2 months. So Im looking to get a dog in bout 6 months to a year but it seems like owning a dog has gotten expensive and im not in aware of what it takes to have a dog in this day in age. My ideal dog1. it will live indoors. 2. Dont need a groomer regularly or never (3-4x a year)3.kid friendly4. Looking at a husky, Labrador or hubbys fave pit bull or rottweilerSo my question(s) is 1. Is it necessary to take your dog to the vet for a well check up or can i just take them when and if they get sick? 2. Should I still get a dog or no cuz of(blank)Sorry if this seem like a dumb question but i havent had a dog as an adult and it seems like owning a pet has changed so much since i was growing up. I grew up with seeing dogs chained outside next to there doghouse. Now i do have a cat who has only been to the vet once in the 5 yrs we’ve had her. And my sister and cousin give me grief bout it. Now my cousin and sister are dog owners and they take there dogs to the groomers bi monthly and to doggy daycare at least twice a week. So with that being said when we get a dog my plan is to take it to the vet ONLY if sick, take baths at home and home train it.Here is my fur ball who has seen a vet once in her 5 years and will be getting her bath this weekend

I don’t know what Prissey is going to do when her sister arrives here shortly. She had daddy all too her self for 3 years and then I entered along with my precious little guys. She coped alright ,learned to share, and now a baby girl. She’s starting to show really jealous behavior: knocking over the kids, taking stuff from the kids, whining and running anytime I’m close to her. It’s heartbreaking 😔 anyone experiencing strange behavior from their furbabies?

Pets and Babies

Hey, I’m curious about how everyone deals with their pets and new babies. I have a cat. She’s really laid back but the closer I get to my due date- the more she won’t leave me alone. Omg she follows be everywhere. I have to keep my door shut at night because she won’t stop rubbing on me and waking me up. I also just set up the babies bed and don’t want her in it. She’s curious and wants to jump inside but she scratches some furniture..And I don’t want her in there in general. I keep nesting and she’s not making me feel any better with her spreading litter in the floor. I bought a new rug and we re arranged the furniture- she hates it 😂 she doesn’t agree with my birthing nest at all. She runs past the living room to eat or come down the hall.

I’m growing increasingly concerned with the way my eldest pupper acts around children it appears to be getting worse as time goes on- she attempted to nip. I’m concerned because My fiancé and I are looking to have children within the next year. This pup is the love of my life, has anyone had this problem or has any tips to fix this? See my fur baby below.
