Speech therapy

Anyone else have their toddlers in early intervention/ speech therapy? Are you going to continue after they turn 3? Wondering what I should do.

Yes! We’ve been in it since right before he turned 2 and we have switched over to the school district now. It’s really helped him get talking and we will continue because 1. I see it helping and 2. He has a lot of fun

Daycare newbie

My son is going to daycare this September and I’m trying to decide what kind of lunchbox will be best- a regular style lunch bag or one of those bento boxes?? Looking for input on that and any other helpful tips I should know about going to daycare!!

All the kids at our daycare seem to bring this. It was convent and leak proof and has a good amount of compartments.Deal of the day: Bentgo® Pop - Leak-Proof Bento-Style Lunch Box with Removable Divider for 3-4 Compartments - Perfect for Kids 8+ and Teens, Microwave/Dishwasher Safe, BPA-Free & Sustainable (Bright Coral/Teal) https://a.co/d/gjbr319

Cyst behind top of the ear 2 yr old

Hi ,Could you please let me know if any of your child had cyst behind ear? It looks like small lump bigger than peas size. What was done to get it removed? My child had fever last week and has occasional cough. We checked her with doctor and he said it's cyst and it has to taken out by small surgery. By injecting and taking it out as cyst normally won't remove itself. Has anyone encountered this before?Sorry for my bad English.

Sorry, no experience with it, but good luck. Sounds like your doctor is knowledgeable and can guide you through the process. ❤️

Transition to bed

I’ve read the parenting blogs and honestly, I need to know some real advice. We’re on day two, she was climbing out of the crib so we switched a few days after that to make sure she wouldn’t hurt herself. Yesterday she was up for hours, so my husband went in and slept there. She was being quiet tonight but we heard activity and checked on her- decided to sleep in there again. She’s ripping up books (not sure why she does jt, but that’s not unusual for her) and pulling paintings off the wall. Now, I’m thinking that tomorrow one of us should just stay in her room after bedtime until she goes asleep. Telling her rules and putting in a colour changing clock won’t make her stay in bed, so what did you do (if you’ve made the switch)?

This is why I bought a crib tent, it keeps them in a crib longer. I think my hyper toddler would have similar struggles. It's okay if she's not ready. Good luck!

Potty training

Poop avoidance is real but he went in the toilet today without any issues. :)

Have i damaged my toddler

Backstory: toddler and 5m old. Toddler has been unwell recently (maybe cov1d) and is so clingy to me. I never get a moment to myself EVER. It’s over 100 degrees here atm. The other night she was in my bed and snoring away. I couldn’t get my baby to sleep and the snoring was really triggering me and getting on my last nerve. I pinched her nostrils together and tapped her with a pillow to try and get her to stop and in the end I woke her up and screamed at her to stop snoring!!! I feel so awful 😩😩😩 she did no way deserve it. I apologised. It was just a heat of the moment thing as annoying noises really bug me when other things aren’t going right (baby not sleeping, heat etc). I’m worried I was so mean that I’ve spoilt our relationship 😩

We are moms not saints we all have that moments we somehow gotta master the "take a moment and breath in breath out " stuff, hang in there ♥️

Snack containers

My September baby is starting preschool in the fall and we need to pack a snack for him. I’m looking for recommendations on containers that would be easy for him to open! Thanks I’m advance! P.s. I also can’t believe I’m going to have a preschooler this fall. Where did the time go?! 😭😭

Bentgo! They have snack containers that I use for breakfast or snacks. You can put wet stuff in too and they don't leak.

My September baby is going to be a big sister!

I'm in shock since we weren't trying 😳 This positive showed up right away and really dark (not first morning urine either), my period was due yesterday (15 dpo). March 21, 2023 here we come! She gets the "high" smile from her dad 😂

Weird spots on face

Hey! Does this look like anything to y’all? These spots just randomly appeared on my toddlers face, at least that’s what my husband said, I was at work. I’ve been putting aquaphor on them but they don’t seem to be getting better. Any thoughts? She’s not in daycare or around anyone else but her father, baby brother and I.

Either eczema or maybe he's sucking on his lower lip, or licking it a lot. Looks like maybe one of those two things.

Poor kid got covid. Any tips for little from those that have been through it? He's drinking powerade, humidifier is on, tylenol and ibuprofen on tap, but he's restless. He wants to do things and gets worn out almost immediately.

We had it in December. He snapped back pretty fast. Just lots of rest, as much as you can get a toddler to do, LOL!

Toddler hurt my baby :(

She threw an empty water bottle hard from a distance and it landed on 4m old head :(She has a bruise now on her head. Will she be ok?!!

I'm sure the baby will be fine. My toddler would throw things and hit the baby when he was young because he wanted my attention. Baby is now 13 months and the toddler is still rough with him. Bumps and bruises happen unfortunately.

Silly boy

Climbed into his crib, grabbed his pillow, blanket, and puppy and came out and made himself a bed up on the back of the couch (not to sleep, just to be silly)He even tucked himself in, I didn't cover him, that was all Flynn

This is mine right now 😆 apparently she likes the corner spot on the floor where the 2 sofas meet - also happens to be where Mummy's feet normally go 🙈

Potty training

I thought I knew how to potty train. Boys are different than girls. His bladder is huge lol. He can hold it in forever. Just sitting with with Mr Naked while we wait for him to pee.

It’s been a whole month for us trying to potty train. He finally got it 😬😂

Bath time troubles

My son used to LOVE baths and showers. He’d throw a fit every time he had to get out. But about a month or so ago he screams and cries every time I try to get him in the bath/shower. I hold him and hurry as fast as I can, and we only do it once a week now to try avoiding the extreme fear. What can I do to get him back to liking bath time? I hate having to put him through that but he won’t let me clean him any other way. Not even just a wash down with a washcloth. Please help me 😭

If nothin happened to make him fear the bath/a shower, I wouldn’t worry. My son randomly went through a phase like this and it was extreme but he’s completely back to normal.

Toddler bed & toddler issue

My son is 3 & we have a crib transitioned into a toddler bed but we ended up putting the side back on so he couldn’t escape, We tried the toddler bed and every night he would just climb out the bed and run back to the living room Long story short 8pm bedtime , he’s out down 8:30 he’s out9pm we put him back 9:05 he’s back outThere’s no way to just lock him in his bed without him escaping and thinking it’s a game How do I let him use his toddler bed without him running back out to usI guess how do I “train him” to just go to sleep lol

I lay in bed with him until he falls asleep and then sneak out.

Resenting my toddler

She’s being SO hard. Constantly tantrumming and bashing her head on the wall. I have a 3m old so toddler isn’t getting my full attention anymore. The time she does have im getting really annoyed.

😭 I have this EXACT problem and I don’t know what to do!

Naughty 👿

Am I doing something wrong? Is my parenting not good enough? My little one will be 3 in September like many in this group I suppose I just need some advice. She does such things like spit, also spit her food out, bite, pinch, pull things out the wardrobe just to say “sorry mum” that’s not even half. I just want to know how to let her know it’s naughty I’ve taken her too her room, she just laughs, she’s been tapped, she just laughs, I’ve shouted, she just laughs, to a point where I cry and she’ll stop, but it’s becoming a lot at the moment as I’m 5 months pregnant and don’t need this stress 🥹Please tell me it’s half normal!

Soooo much harder when you’re pregnant bc they know something is changing but they don’t know what it is. I have a 2 almost 3 year old and a 9 month old (both girls) and it is HARD 😭 my oldest tests my patience as much she can. I don’t really have any advice but I’m right there with you 😭 feel free to message me!

Amelia!

It’s been a very long time since I’ve posted an update. Not much new going on here, Amelia is still fighting seizures everyday, lots of hospital admissions, new meds, old meds, diets, surgeries etc. she’s happy, she’s very very wild, (being evaluated for autism and adhd) she’ll be starting early preschool this coming up school year! Her older brother is doing great but I think everything affects him more than he puts out. Her younger sister got her gtube and a diagnosis of reactive airway disease and the treatments have been really helping her! Here’s our family. Thanks for All the love and support, despite me hardly updating. 💜💙❤️

Aw great to hear how Amelia is doing. Make sure that big brother gets extra love. The squeaky wheel gets the grease and boys especially internalize their feelings more than girls. You’re doing a great job mama ❤️
