Exclusively Breast-fed baby sleeping through the night?

Any mamas here having their babies go 7+ hours at night with no feed needed? How did you do it? When did baby start to sleep through the night? Do you give baby pumped milk for the night or nurse? Any tips are welcome please. Have seen a few posts about babies sleeping longer now. Only they don't specify if they formula feed or breastfeed or pump. Ps. I know it ain't always the case for babies to sleep through the night now, just need a few tips to point this baby in the right direction BSE my first woke up for feeds up to the day I weaned at 28 months and it was so hard to stop night feeds. I think it would be easier if I stop them in the next 3 months so tips are welcome.

My baby is 5 months old today. She typically sleeps about 10 hours straight. Usually 9pm-7am. She’s been doing this for probably a month. I’d say by 3 months she was sleeping 8 hours. By 2 months probably 6-7 hours. She’s always been a good sleeper. Better than my first two for sure!! My first two were combo fed. My baby is EBF and nurses to sleep! Picture of her milk drunk in her Merlin magic sleep suit ☺️

3 month old: sleep issue

Let me start off by saying I KNOW that 3 month old should not be sleeping through the night. My concern is that my son wakes up 3-4 times a night grunting and pushing his legs up on the air. I don’t think he’s hungry but nothing gets him back to sleep lol except a bottle and I don’t want to keep feeding him when he’s not hungry. He’s never been able to take a pacifier. He had a lip and tongue surgery done at 2 months old. I think he struggles to keep suction on it but also he sucks it maybe twice and then tries to push it out with his tongue.

Could it be trapped wind?. 🥰 we had similar sounding things with 2 of our young babies. I don’t know where you are but here in the UK you can buy things like gripe water, Dentinox or Infacol that can help a little bit. Take care 💐

Frequent poo’s

Hey moms.. I need some advice. What amount of poo is normal for a three month old per day.My LO went from only going once every 4 days to almost three times per day. He is exclusively breastfed and the consistency is a bit runny. He has been to the Pediatrician who tested for numerous things but all came back negative. He put him on flagyl for five days but it didn’t make a difference. Now I’m thinking maybe it’s normal? I don’t know. Has anyone else experienced something like this in there LO?Please help, new mom

Breastfeeding and pumping

So I was pumping feeding bottles for babe during the day, and nursing overnight. I had made the decision to transition to formula, as I thought my milk was hurting his stomach. So for 2 days, I didn’t pump/nurse; I only hand expressed for comfort. Well I now (again) changed my mind and want to continue BF’ing… except now when I pump I’m only get 1oz from each side when I used to get 4-5oz per side. I am back to pumping around the clock. Will my milk supply go back up? Or do I have the throw in the towel?

Keep at it. You could absolutely bring your supply back with persistence. It'll typically take a few days to see a change. If its been weeks, it may have diminished too much. Either way, you could always consult an LC. Have you tried any power pumps?

How is tummy time going?

We do 10 minutes 3x/day. A mirror has made him more tolerant of it lately, he also likes to do it in front of our patio door so he can look out.

Sleeping through the night

She slept through the night Sunday-Tuesday night and then tonight she woke up to eat. I was hoping this would be an every night thing. Maybe she just needed extra?

11 weeks old isn’t gaining weight

Hi Momma’sMy son is breast feed baby, he hasn’t gained any weight from 2m check up. Basically from last 2-3 weeks no weight gain.He is eating ok , he refuses bottle unless he is super hungry.Anyone faced this weight gain issue? What did you do differently? He is been pooping very little in each feed instead of one go, is this normal ?Thanks in advanceUpdate 10/31 : he is gaining weight, his percentile of weight is on lower end 11-20%. His doctor doesn’t show any concern this time saying he is following his own curve and each baby is different

I know pumping isn’t an accurate measure of what you’re producing, have you tried to pump between feeds? I know breast milk supply is a demand thing, or have you stopped pumping recently? Has anything changed in your life that may have affected your supply at all? Stress/diet/water intake ect. Im not a dr or anything so I dunno but just some suggestions to consider. Definitely see your dr though.. no weight gain is a concern. Also well done for breast feeding this long. Unfortunately my last son just wouldn’t wake to feed and was a very lazy drinker so we went straight to formula (my husband and children also had covid) and he was a very small baby. I hope your breast feeding journey can continue and you sort this out. It must be stressful for you. Good luck

Puffy eye

I know you aren't doctors, but I'd like to know if this has happened to anyone else's baby and what you are doing about it. My three month old baby, for the last month, has been waking up with her left and right eye puffy. Usually, it goes down during the day, but not much. So whatever side She slept on, she woke up with a puffy eye. Any insight? There hasn't been any redness, discharge, or itchiness. I've been trying warm compression without any improvement. I went to my daughter's pediatrician, and she said it was normal. I disagree, but at the same time, I can't find any information online about this situation. Thank you for your time.

I think it can honestly just be water retention when they sleep. If it goes down after a while of them being awake in the am, I’d attribute it to the water retention and wouldn’t worry.

Am I in the wrong?

So, I(19) had moved to where my mom lives now because I became homeless after she left where she used to live. I moved into her place because I was pregnant (38 weeks) and was told that I didn’t need to worry about anything but taking care of my baby. There is a total of 8 people living here: my mom, her husband, my sister(21), her boyfriend, my brothers, and my and my baby. My sister tested positive for covid, but walks around the house without a mask on and comes a step or two close to my baby.Today, my mom works late and didn’t come up with anything for dinner, so my sister decided on dinner for tonight and went to her room after getting the stuff together. My baby was showing signs of tiredness, so I went to my room to feed him and put him to sleep. As my baby was about to sleep, my sister kept knocking on my door asking me when I was going to make dinner, and I told her that I need to put my baby to sleep. I get a text from my mom asking me to make dinner, then saying never mind, then asking me again. My sister knocks on my door and shouts through the door telling me that my brother is hungry and I need to make dinner. She asks me why I’m putting my baby to sleep. Baby schedule from 8:00pm:8:00-9:00pm last nap9:30pm: bath10:00pm: cuddles, eat, sleepShe opens my door and says that my baby doesn’t need a nap because he goes to sleep at 9 (is actually 10), and he doesn’t need a bath because he took one yesterday. She also said that I need to contribute to this household and I need to make dinner because everyone is hungry. I tel her that my baby comes first and she says “who told you to have a baby?”My baby (who is obviously still awake) starts crying so I start to get upset and angry.I then said “why don’t you make dinner?” And she yelled at me saying “because I have f***ing covid!” And slammed my door, then went to her room slamming her door. It’s now about an hour later, baby still not asleep, and she’s banging on my door asking me if I’m making dinner. And now they’re yelling at me that nobody wanted me up here when though my mom was the one who came to get me.Am I in the wrong for not making dinner? Am I in the wrong for telling her to make dinner even though she has covid? What do I do?

I mean there's alot of wrong here. You shouldn't want her to make dinner and she should be isolated in her room. If not you should be isolating you and your baby 100% 😮‍💨

Feeding struggles

I have been exclusively pumping for my 12 week old since breastfeeding wasn’t working for us. While it’s nice to be able to see how much milk he is taking in, he has always been difficult to feed and we have been having struggles getting him to gain weight at the rate the pediatrician would like (he is still steadily gaining, but isn’t sticking with the curve). We discovered a few weeks ago that he was suffering from silent reflux and have started him on treatment for that. He is a much more content baby now! At first we thought his feeding issues had been solved too. He was taking in a solid 3+ oz per bottle and wasn’t pulling away and fussing like he had been. Now I feel like we are backsliding. We have been fortifying his breast milk with formula for the extra calories per our pediatrician’s recommendation and for the past couple days it has been a struggle again to get him to take a full bottle. I am stressing myself sick about it. I know if he was feeding at the breast I wouldn’t see his intake, and I can’t tell if seeing those numbers is helping or hurting me right now. Has anyone else dealt with a similar situation? Other than this he is a generally happy healthy baby. I just never had these issues with my oldest, he had significant reflux as well, but was a “happy spitter” and never had issues with eating.

Try some different formulas out.. the formula might be upsetting him now. My poor buddy who’s 4 months has bad allergies. The pead prescribed a specialty formula however he wasn’t gaining much weight, was fussy, refusing the bottle ect. So we had to put him back on his previous formula and he’s now drinking much more. (He gets really bad eczema on the old formula but I’d rather him be gaining weight with eczema than not gaining weight with no eczema) we are still trying to find the right formula for him.. but at this stage it looks like we will have to battle the eczema with the formula he is on. So maybe try some different formulas out and see if that helps? There are reflux formulas, soy (although not good for under 6 months apparently) rice milk formulas.. or a hydrolysed cows milk formula (it’s more gentle on their tummies) or goats milk. Maybe try a change? Hope you sort it out.. nothing worse than the stress of worrying about your Bub
