Hello everyone! I haven’t been on this app in a while but I’m so glad people joined the group! Feel free to post about your journey or start a thread to document your own progress and how things are working or what’s not working for you. My symptoms get worse before and during my period, which I’m unfortunately experiencing now. I also find that too much caffeine can be bothersome? Incredibly weird correlation but I’m pretty sure it’s valid (for me at least).

In regards to progress I’ve made a lot since I last posted! What about you all? Staying on top of the stretches can be hard but I’m thinking about joining a yoga class. Taking baths is also a great self care thing for me so I try to do that as frequently as possible. Very relaxing for the whole body. I started using dilators and I’m already on the second size! I’m not sure how common dilators are in the treatment (I feel like they might be common but I just know what I’m doing). My doctor 👼🏻 prescribed me a Valium suppository which has helped relax the muscles so I can use the dilators and do physical therapy! She expects I’ll be doing them for 6 months! And then hopefully I can have completely pain free sex 😌 I know I was really scared when I got my diagnosis, and I’m so grateful for all the access And luck I had finding my doctor. Treatment is an expense but it’s well worth it. And everything I’m learning about my body is just something I have to make part of my life and routine so I don’t end up curled up in a ball crying because I feel like my vagina is on fire! So keeping up with the dilators and doing the work is just going to be part of life, and that’s okay. A little effort to keep the pain at bay, don’t gotta ask me twice!

I hope you are all doing well! Progress is progress. An inch is a mile. I know staying positive is really hard, I had a rough day today myself. The emotional toll my pain took on me, also socially, all my friends go around having casual sex and I’m like well can’t relate to that LOL so it makes me feel some way sometimes. I started antidepressants, and it’s nothing to be ashamed of! I’m also going to start going to therapy when I have more room in my schedule. I feel like finding people you can talk to who won’t judge can be hard, and sometimes friends don’t really get it either.
