Umbilical cord attached wrong

So I went to the dr today and I told her I've been having bad Braxton hicks so she wanted to check my cervix bc she said it was kinda early (I'm 18 weeks and 3 days) so she ordered an ultrasound just to make sure well while checking my cervix the tech noticed the babys umbilical cord is attached to the placenta in the wrong spot I guess (that's how I kinda understood it) and now I have to see a specialist...she said its nothing bad but why send me to a specialist then and when I tried to Google it all kinds of bad shit came up now I'm worried like idk what....šŸ˜”šŸ˜”šŸ˜”

I'm in the same situation, currently 29 weeks and my son has a Mild case of a Velamentous cord,he's currently almost 3lbs.

SWELLING!! If you have heard or had this please respond not sure what’s going on.

So last night I went to bed like I normally do and woke up this morning with my hands swollen. As the day progressed the swelling went down and my hands are back to normal, but I am wondering if anyone else has had this issue. I am around 19 weeks pregnant and don’t know if this is a normal this or not. I have heard of the ankles but not the hands so much. #worriedmama

Ha

My pre e started swelling in my hands. I’d check your bp. Especially if it’s accompanied by a headache.

So I haven’t actually been diagnosed

With preeclampsia yet. But I’ve seen a high risk doctor and now they’re treating me as I have it and already high risk. I had it with my first. I was 15 minutes away from my deathbed when I finally delivered. Anyways. I’m getting 3 more ultrasounds at the least. But now I’m worried about gestational diabetes. Any one have both and both momma and babe be healthy?

Do

With my first I had preeclampsia, gestational diabetes and also type two diabetes. My daughter was 6 weeks early but weighed 7lbs even and spent a month in the NICU. Overall we were both healthy. Now 6 weeks with my second. Very nervous!!

Previous open heart surgary n now pregnant!

I'm just curious if anyone else has gone threw a open heart surgery and been pregnant afterwards. I'm 5 weeks and 2 days. Still waiting to have my first Dr. Appointment here in a couple days, and will have some answers from the doc then, but I'd really like to hear from the mother's side of her experience.

I had open heart and lung surgery this past summer. My cardiologist and pulmonologist said I am fine to have children with no extra precautions. The only thing I have to do is switch from warfarin to lovenox before trying to conceive. They said if my OB has any questions or concerns, he/she can contact them and they will address the concerns and answer any questions.

Critically low sugar

So I took my 3 hour glucose test for the second time this pregnancy, and I saw some results posting, everything looked okay besides the fasting was low, and as I was waiting for the last to post, I got a call from the doctors office, as soon as she made sure it was me, she said ā€œare you okay?ā€Apparently my sugars hit critical levels at 31 at the 3 hour mark. (No wonder I felt like I was going to die and sweat through everything and couldn’t breathe) so now I’m suppose to eat sweets for a bit, drink and relax and if I feel this way tomorrow morning I’m to call the doc immediately. I still feel like death but better than I did 3 hours ago. So hopefully it continues to get better

I had nausea all pregnancy long! Up until delivery. My ob told me there are some women who experience that

Hypertension and mild preeclampsia

I have Pregnancy Induced Hypertension. I have to check my pressure 3x a day and i have urine strips to test my protein. How soon were some of you moms induced because of PIH. ? I was just curious. im 5'8 , 272lbs and my pressure is always between 140-160 (top number) and 80-95 (bottom ) . The maternal fetal medicine doctor mentioned me being induced a week before my due date but if it escalates then ill be delivering 2-3 weeks before my due date. Due date is (jan 17th) im 32 weeks and 5 days now. And my pressure is never really normal. Do you think my ob will discuss induction at my next appointment?( ill be 33 weeks my next appointment) i will be showing her my blood pressure log as well. And at what week were u guys induced because of hypertension or mild preeclampsia???

Hi was your blood pressure this high from the very beginning?

Missing a makena injection šŸ˜• help?

Have any of you ladies missed one of your injections for a few days without any complication? The pharmacy didn't send my makena to the office today as scheduled. My last pregnancy I was only able to get 1/2 of my dose because the pharmacy didn't send anymore and I went into active labor two days later. I'm so worried that not getting it at all for two days will be worse.

I’m stressing about this same thing! They told me the shot is in back order and my MD sent a new RX for the generic kind but I’m still going to miss a week at this point.

Help! Anticoagulant test high!

Hello. I found out Im pregnant a couple of days ago. Ive had 2 misscarriages and 1 chemical this year, so Im not getting excited just yet. So after the second MC I did a bunch of tests, genetic among other things. I just received my anticoagulant test and there is one called ttpa that should be in the range 25.4-36.9 and I got 97.4. So Im freaking out and my doctor appointment is on friday. Is there anything I can start doing now? Can I just start taking aspirine or something? Ir you have any experience in this please let me know. Thank you

If it’s high that means you can bleed easy. And taking aspirin will make you bleed even more.

Lovenox twice a day or once a day?

So I’m about 4-5 weeks pregnant now and started on Lovenox injections be day I got the positive. I was diagnosed with Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS) after two consecutive miscarriages. I’m trying to do everything right this time so that everything goes fine and am naturally very nervous. My last miscarriage was in April and before that I had one in December. My hematologist put me on Lovenox 40mg twice a day so I’ve been doing them but now today the nurse there called me and told me to only take it once a day. So now I’m confused as to why they changed it. I told them I’m fine with twice a day if it’s going to prevent another loss and he said it’s a prophylactic dose and I only need 40mg once a day. He also said I don’t need to get blood work to check my levels to make sure it’s working. I guess I’m just anxious and want to make sure the medicine is working and my baby is going o be ok. So for those on Lovenox have you taken it once or twice a day??

I’ve had two incidents of pulmonary embolism in the last 2 years. Currently TTC and my hematologist has me on Lovenox 80mg twice a day. Each person is slightly different.

Daily injections...any advice?

I've currently been on daily progesterone injections since finding out I was pregnant (I'm 15 weeks now). Just this past week I've been having a big problem with the injection sights swelling and leaving big knots on them. I have to alternate both sides of my hips/upper bottom area. We've haven't done anything different from before when we first started them either. Does anyone have recommendations or advice on what could help this from occurring each time?? They're also very sore..Thanks for your time.

Warm injection site prior to injection with a warm pack or heating pad on ā€œwarmā€ setting. Post injection ice for 20mins. You can also push the medication in a bit slower to help it disseminate through the tissue slower creating less of a knot.

Moms with abnormal heartbeats

Was there any precautions your doctor took with you in labor or towards the end of your pregnancy my heart has been skipping more regularly or beating too fast or slow and I pass out but my doctor is ignoring any concerns I have

You’re preaching to the quire over here. I have POTS & an arrhythmia that I’m medicated for when I’m not pregnant. Going off my meds was scary enough. I’ve had more dizzy episodes than usual and brought it up to my OBGYN that I’m afraid of blacking out in labor... and his answer was don’t worry if you black out we’ll just wake you up šŸ™„. This is the answer give to a woman who’s erratic bp drops to like 70/40 when I have an episode. So I demanded that he at least make a note in my charts (so the hospital will see it when I go in for labor) that I get an IV and epidural (pain triggers POTS for me) right away. I hear to many stories of there not being enough ā€œtimeā€ for an epidural or the person who does it isn’t available for an hour after you ask for it, that’s not something I care to risk. Sometimes you just have to demand what you know is what you will need. If you want to stay in touch with me I would be happy to, not too many experience this and it’s nice to have a friend who understands how you feel.

Short Cervix- Abdominal Pain

24wks I’m having pretty bad sharp lower abdominal pain (in the middle) to the point it’s difficult to walk. It started yesterday, l find myself waddling when I walk. When I’m sitting I feel fine no pressure or pain. Btw, I have been taking progesterone suppositories every night since 21wks when I found out I had a short cervix with funneling. I measured 1.2cm at my 23wk ultrasound. I have not been put on bed rest. The doctors doesn’t seem worried. With this pain now, I’m not sure what it is. This is my second pregnancy, I carried my son 37 with no complications, no short cervix, or anything. Should I be concerned? Has anyone else ever had this type of pain?

Any updates ?

Gestational Hypertension

So on Wednesday I went to my normal biweekly check up. I’ve been having them weekly because my blood pressure has been so high. Well this time it was extremely high (120/100). The bottom number I guess is supposed to be below 82 and they can’t get mine under 100. All of a sudden I had 2 nurses rush in, 1 doctor and 1 lady to draw blood and they were hooking me up to machines and freaking out a little bit. The doctor told me I have preeclampsia and told me how serious it was. She said she was going to leave and come back in 20 minutes to talk more. Well she never did and I was so flustered I didn’t even think of it. I never got to ask questions. Can someone on here talk to me about their experience with preeclampsia? I have a NST on Monday but I won’t be able to see the doctor until Thursday.

Scared to give birth

I’ve been extremely high risk since I got pregnant. I have 2 congenital heart diseases, had them since I was 2 weeks old. I have supravalvular aortic stenosis and peripheral pulmonary stenosis. I just changed OBs because my first one doesn’t deliver at the only hospital that has high enough cardiac care if I do need it.My cardiologist I was seeing honestly sucked so my OB is putting me on a new cardiologist that works with pregnant womenUp until now (33 weeks) I was told I’d have to have a c section because of my heart condition, I was just told I have to be induced between 37-39 weeks because in a c section I’d lose all the blood at once and there’s a higher morality rateI spent 3 days in the hospital a month ago because I almost passed out, my resting heart rate is 110, I haven’t worked in 3 weeks because of my heartAnybody else have similar experiences? Or any advice?I’m very nervous

My hearts large and thin, works only a fraction of what its suppose to. My heart rate is always at least 110, especially pregnant... My cardiologist also will not let them do a C-section because of the blood loss and heart stress of an operation like that. But they're also not letting me feel any contractions come time either... Ill be immediately placed with an epidural and theyll pace the whole thing to minimize the stress on my heart and body. Ill also have a cardiologist monitoring me for 24-48 hours afterwards and then appointments every 3-7 days after we go home. It's scary, but my first birth was so easy and fast, (before we knew about my heart failure) so as long as youre holding up now im sure they'll have the best plan for you too! Just ask way too many questions and dont leave having any doubts.

Has anyone

Has anyone on here ever had a v back after 2 c sections or know of anyone that has looking for more information on it

Yes VBA2C is possible. I would see if you can get in contact with an ICAN Chapter in your local areas. They should know of providers that are truly VBAC supportive

Finances

I was put on bedrest for the remainder of my pregnancy due to high blood pressure and early signs of pre-e. I will if course do anything to have a happy healthy baby, but what did everyone do financially when this happened? We can’t pay some of our bills and I am not sure what to do or what I can do, if there are places to get help, or legit jobs online to pass the time until I can return to work.
