So I work in a small chain restaurant that has space inside of a gas station. It’s about 20 minutes away from me. 🙌🏼 Normally we are open 10-10 Sunday-Thursday and Friday and Saturday 10-11. Shifts are two morning persons ( 9-5,10-5 sometimes 10-6) and two night persons (5-10 and on f+s 5-11)

This Friday that just passed they put out a new schedule where now we open from 10-9 or 11-9. I’ve been hearing different things. But now it’s only three people a day Sunday through Thursday and on Friday + Saturday two morning two night. Shifts are now 9-5, 11-8 , 5-9 . With the person who closed at 9pm has to close down the restaurant by themselves the last hour even while taking orders of potential customers. And on the weekends it’s 9-5, 11-5, 5-10.

this is my typical schedule every week

Monday- 10-5

Tuesday 5-10

Wed off

Thursday 10-5

Friday 5-11

Sat - 10-5:20 ( bc night shift guy always comes late and never says anything 😡)

Sun off

Normally after work I get home feed my daughter dinner, we shower, while she plays I wash her bottles and dishes then I put her to sleep by 7:30ish and I either lay down with her and nap too or I clean or do homework. Or when I work night shift I’m with her in the morning and do errands with my sister or mom.

My schedule this week is

Monday 11-8

Tuesday off

Wednesday off

Thursday 5-9

Friday 11-5

Saturday 11-3

Sunday off

The following week will be most likely or maybe change to something else

Tuesday off

Im upset because im always ready to leave at 5 so I can spend my night with my daughter. As a ftm to a 8 month old, im tryna soak up every moment. Now I have to work 11-8 , and I feel like that just takes up my whole day, its takes my morning, midday and night. And then they cut one of my days and most of the days im only working 4 hours this week. I don’t think it’s worth me driving over there for 4 hours a day making 13 an hour.and I know I should be grateful for having three days off and I can spend it with her. But I just like leaving at 5, I just feel like now I’ll be pulling a double at work, I might as well just come in at 10 like normal 🥲 leaving at 5, gives me the chance to do whatever after work also.

It’s also not just me they cut hours from others too but one person , they still has his 44 hours while everyone else is between 4-34

Someone help me see the bright side or help me see where I’m coming from. I’m already seeing us closing down in a few months if they keep it this way.
