How to know when labor is starting

All night & morning I’ve been having pain in my pelvis area and contractions. I can’t close my legs without it hurting. So I need to know how do I know when I’m in actually labor. I can’t really use pain because I have a high tolerance and this morning pain made me cry.

Thoughts while pushing baby out....

I realized when I was having my daughter, I was literally focused on how cute the doctor was to even realize he was a student 😂 actually I didn't pay attention to it each time he checked my cervix. However, he did a great job for his 3rd delivery. Did anyone else have random thoughts during labor ?

Ka

They do the normal doctor stuff, I had a breast exam. I can’t remember if I had a vaginal exam or not since I didn’t have stitches.

Sick and labor is approaching

So my husband, daughter, and I are all feeling a little sick after a week. My husband was sick a week ago and can’t get the cough to go away. He is planning on going to the doctor today to see what they can do. My daughter goes to the doctor Saturday and I’m planning to tell them about her snotty nose that’s lingered for a week to see if they can help her. I go back to my Obgyn tomorrow and will probably ask them the same questions, but until then I want to ease my mind and see what I’m looking at. (Nobody has a fever)I have a lot of congestion and cough occasionally still. I’ve been having a lot of contractions and I know it’s close to time for labor. If I go into labor while I’m still feeling like this what will they do?Will I be able to hold my baby and breastfeed? Will they take the baby away from me because of me being sick?Could I risk giving my baby RSV or Whooping Cough?I’m only 36 weeks, but will more than likely be having the baby before 40 weeks. Our goal is to make it to 37 weeks at the least. This pregnancy has been a rough ride all around. Please help me out guys! 😩

When do stitches finally heal?

During birth i got a 2nd degree internal tear. I don't know how many stitches i got but i know after like 4 days two fell out but i still have one in the entrance. Some days its tight and keeps everything closed. Then other days its loose and i can see the whole tear still not healed. Im in no pain anymore for awhile now but how long till this tear heals and also is it normal to be loose one day and then tight the next?

37 weeks. Need to induce myself now!!!

Okay please no negative comments. I'm 37 weeks today, I've been in early labor since 32wks 5days. The last they checked (last week) I was a 3cm. I've been taking McKenna shots since 16 weeks to help not go into early labor since my son was born at 34 weeks. I feel like I am dying. My husband has to wake up and help me turn over in the middle of the night because I'm in so much pain I can't move. My vagina feels like its ripping apart. I contract all the time. Major back pain (I've had back labor with all my kids). I can't leave my house and walk from the car to a store door without being buckled over in knife ranging pain. I am beyond miserable. And I can't continue to do this. I've been feeling this way and going thru this for 4 weeks now. I'm ready for it to be over. The drs told me the baby is weighing over 6lbs last week. She's completely healthy. And she has lung shots at 33 weeks to help build her lungs better. I need to know how to induce myself now. I don't need any negative comments. I literally feel like I'm slowly dying. Drs won't induce in my area til your 40wks+ I cant wait that long. I dont think I can go another night with all the pain I'm feeling. Any tips on inducing would be great!

🍎

I could have wrote this word for word except my son is actually crushing my pelvic bone an hey offered to induce at 37 weeks but I won’t bc we almost lost my second daughter due to induction! So I get it I’m in the same boat! Let me know if any thing works for you !

Can I get advice?

I had my daughter on 12/12/18 and I’m a new mommy. Is this normal or should I contact my OB?

Ri

I'd say it's normal... anything larger than that I'd be visiting the doctor asap.

Labor and Delivery

Anyone here choose a birthing center for their delivery? How was your experience? Very anxious about deciding how I want to deliver.

Delivery room disagreement rant

How do I explain to my husband that birth is about the MOTHER and baby. We have such a big disagreement about who can be in the delivery room. I compromised and said yes his sister and mother can be there I just don’t want them down below because that makes me uncomfortable thinking of being so exposed in front of them. His thinking there women so I shouldn’t feel uncomfortable with them seeing me naked🤦🏽‍♀️He says I’m blowing it out of proportion and that it’s a beautiful experience and no one is going to be thinking of my vagina. That it’s about our daughter. I totally agree it being about our daughter but how I feel matters as well I’m giving birth!! Being uncomfortable with who can see me naked is not going to make the birth process any easier, but he doesn’t understand that. I feel like he’s being so emotionally selfish when it comes to delivering the baby! Did anybody else have this Issue, how did you or “compromise”?

Ho

Personally, I just want me and my husband in the room. Our first child is due in April and it will be more sentimental to share the moment we become parents and a family privately. He once mentioned his mom being in the room but when I explained that not even my mom would be in there and how special and important it was to me to experience the birth privately, he understood completely and agreed.

Not dilating!!!

I was induced on November 29th at 6pm due to polyhydramnios and cholestasis. It is now December 1st and I’m still here!! 30+ hours of labor, contractions every 2-3 min but still only 2cm dilated 😩 I’m exhausted 😢 Has anyone gone through this as well?

Ttc plus size

I’m plus size currently trying to conceive. I have started to doing cardio. I am still worried though. What is it like laboring as a good plus size women ? Where you able to deliver vaginally without pain medication/ epidural ? How was your recovery? I have so many questions.

Vagina prettier after birth ?!

Ok so this may be super strange and unbelievable but I swear you guys my vagina looks prettier than before after I gave birth to my baby almost 3 weeks ago and I’m so confused. Like my lips were too big before and now it’s like they shrink a lot and looks so much smaller and cute idk if I am seeing things or not but it definitely looks way better has anyone else experienced this ?? Also if it matters I did not tear and this was my second pregnancy being 6 years apart from my first one. I never thought my vagina was cute lol I mean who does 😂 but now I think it’s kinda cute lol

Bum cramps

36 weeks exactly me and my so had sex about 8pm yesterday and all day today I have had on and off contractions they feel like period cramps - like I'm having a full blown period - and when I'm walking about or sitting on my yoga ball I'm having bum cramps and pressure down there - I have been loosing small amounts of my plug but nothing to say "omg that's ce away labour is imminent" my tummy is tight when it gets painful they take my breath and I do need to focus - so just braxton hicks or is this actual slow labour My other 2 pregnancies they both came at 38 weeks 5 days and 6 days

Rude nurse while L&D share your story!

I hated one nurse that I had she was very uneducated I went to the hospital because I was having what felt like period cramps all night I arrived at 1 in the afternoon and she put a monitor for contractions on me she put it on wrong and NONE of my contractions showed up on the monitor I'm pretty she she thought I was lying cause she kept saying she was gonna send me home so she checked my cervix she said I can stick my finger in your cervix but your not dialated at all I continued to tell her that I thought I was having contractions so she seen only one contraction so she calls my doctor in and she does an ultra sound because I had recently had one at 36 weeks and my daughter was breeched so she confirmed that my daughter was completely breeched and she said well I'll check you and if your not dialated we can send you home so she is checking my cervix and then she gets a bad look on her face and says "oh no" "OMG your already 5 centimeters dialated " "we have to do an emergency C-section right now it wasn't safe to transport me while being 5 centimeters dialated " every one started panicing and needless to say that nurse started in OMG she wasn't dialated then after I had my baby I had her and she just kept talking crap to me saying I wasn't breast feeding my daughter write when the pediatrician came in and told me I was doing it correctly she was also trying to say she thinks I am getting depressed wish I never got her but I am just glad my baby is very healthy ❤️

Lubar fusion & delivery?

So about a year and a half ago I had to have a lower lumbar fusion. Recovery went great, I still hurt, but for sure not as bad as before. I am currently 37 +2 weeks pregnant, and tomorrow my doctor and I decide wether to do a c section, induce, or wait for baby. He is measuring quite large, almost 9lbs now (I know this can be off on ultrasounds). My issue is that id really like to be able to experience a natural child birth. That being said, with where my fusion is placed, there is a possibility that my fusion could shift or bend, depending on how much my hips have to open up for baby boy. I'm absolutely terrified of this happening. My spinal doctor said I should be fine, but no promises. I was just wondering if anyone else has had a lower fusion and had no issues with delivery and recovery?
