Hey everyone, I’ve been on the IG influencing game since around 2017-ish, the app has changed so much since then and the algorithm is forever changing, but if you have the time and patience it can become a good side hustle for money when you grow a following; I know this group has limited members but if a post like this can inspire you, I hope it helps!

•Don’t use fonts

I see this so much recently, but Instagram now relies on SEO for getting your posts some reach (SEO: search engine optimisation). Using fonts from exterior websites is HARMFUL to your reach and can make it harder for users to find you/your posts!

•Network

I’ve found this to be the best tactic for growth for me even since 2017, networking and building connections with other users is the best way to grow! Engage with your followers, comment on their posts, grow a community by COMMUNICATING!

•Great quality content

We now live in a time where an iPhone camera can arguably rival an SLR, I’m a photographer so I do use an SLR but honestly I think even iPhone photos and videos can make beautiful content, as long as you learn basic composition and easy edits in Lightroom (besties, straighten your images! It makes a huge difference!) you can easily make an aesthetically pleasing feed! Don’t forget to make cover photos for your reels too!

•Utilise story features

Polls, sticker taps, sliders, links - use them all!

•Engage engage engage

15 mins before and after posting make sure to engage with your community, this can boost visibility to your newest posts!

•Don’t worry about posting daily

I sometimes post once a week 🤷‍♀️ whatever works with your schedule, not everyone can plan content days. As long as you’re producing quality content your followers won’t mind!

•Trending audios

Use them on reels and photos alike.

•Captions

Write meaningful captions!! Nobody will comment on a caption with just an emoji or simple sentence, open conversations, give your followers a reason to talk to you!

•Hashtags

Still use them, they’re not as effective anymore but they’re a feature for a reason. Make sure you include them in your caption and not your comments, again, SEO loves key words in captions and that’s what hashtags are!

•HAVE FUN

“keep it fun keep it cute keep it real” is my motto. The second it’s not fun anymore take a step back. Have fun with your content, have fun using the app, if it’s not fun then it’s not worth it!
