Technically he is right, but probably for the wrong reason. Sex itself entails all sexual activity, which includes different types of sex such as oral sex or intercourse. However, it isn't that simple. The SOCIAL definition varies culturally and situationally. For example: if someone is defining sex by losing your virginity then oral is not considered sex. On the other hand, that depends on the sexual orientation of the person as well. Another example: if someone is a lesbian and they give and receive oral then socially I think they have lost their virginity since that is usually considered sex for lesbians. Not trying to give you too much info that doesn't apply to you, I just want to make sure and show how social definitions matter and everything isn't so simply defined all the time.
