Sex and virginity

I know you will think this question is stupid, but here it goes. My bf said that guys will know if the girl has had sex before. As in for me my bf is the second person I've had sex with and he said I knew you weren't a virgin when he had sex with me for the first time. I've researched this prove that he's wrong, but he still thinks he's right. So I wanted your opinions.
