Anyone using Lovenox injections during their pregnancy? First week down.

Good luck!! This is my first pregnancy I have DVT (deep vein thrombosis blood clots) Since I was 18, I'm 24 now gonna have my first baby was taking warfarin for 5 years until I switched insurance last November so have been taking my medicine since 5 months which I should be. Went to the doctors 2 week's ago she said she is gonna give me Lovenox 2 Times a day injections but my insurance wants me to pay $2000 a month for the medicine so I'm having a hard time. Since I'm labeled a high risk pregnancy. But good luck with everything

I see an hematologist in four day:) . I think I will have to take those injections too. I have two mutation incidcaring I am at high risk of clots. 6w2d and only taking aspirin...it makes me anixous. I hope we all have a healthy pregnancy!!!

I know this post is super old & I’m not sure if you’ll even see this, but I was hoping to ask how your pregnancy turned out? This picture is so cute and you are so brave doing this for your baby!
I just found out I have the mthfr gene mutation which can be linked to clotting issues as well and am in the process of testing for antiphospholipid syndrome too. I’ve had 3 losses so far and even if I come back negative for the aps I was considering bringing up the lovenox injections with my doctor as a precaution since I have the gene mutation anyways. For a future pregnancy I mean.
Looks pretty painful, I hoped it worked!

I am! I've been on them since the day I got my BFP. I'm now 7+6. I've also had 3 losses and I have to clotting disorders, MTHFR and Factor XIII. Happy healthy 9 months!

Hi there! I have been using lovenox injections daily since 2 weeks before  frozen embryo transfer. I am 8 weeks now with twins!! I had 2 consecutive early miscarriages and am further along than I have ever been!! My m/c were unexplained but my doctor said the lovenox is worth a try. I also take baby aspirin daily. Good luck! ❤️💋

I do ice before and after the shot.  The medicine doesn't burn so much going in, and it definitely helps with bruising.

I go in for my first ultrasound Wednesday. If a heartbeat is found I start the injections the next day. I've had 2 miscarriages and was diagnosed with APS. Hoping the injections work and we can have our first healthy baby! Good luck to you!

Yea I'm on clexane which is similar. My tummy is very similar to yours. Ive foound ice helps. Also i only put the needle in half way now as the first week I got a hematoma. 😢

Congrats! I feel your pain! I've been on lovenox injections since we found out we were pregnant. I found the best way to reduce bruising is to put an ice pack on the injection site right after injecting. For at least 20-30 minutes! It reduces bruising and takes the sting out of the injection!
