Would you/do you live with your significant other before marriage?

I am a college student (senior) and I've been living with my boyfriend for about a year now we've been together for over 2 years. I wonder how many people cohabitate before marriage? We plan to marry after college, we just wanted to see how living together was before marriage and also for two broke college students living together is very helpful with money.

Really the only objection I have to this arrangement is that I am saving sex for marriage. I'm a student as well and I totally understand the appeal of the saved costs involved in cohabitation. I'd totally live with my boyfriend though, as long as we had separate bedrooms and other roommates to keep us accountable, as the temptation would be too great! ? observing your SO and his habits, and determining if yours are compatible, before marriage is by far the wisest choice. ?

Best possible choice, don't let anyone tell you other! Very sensible. Get to know the person better- live with them. I cant comprehend how people can marry someone they have not lived with.  Xx

I married someone I don't live with first and if I had, I NEVER would have married him. There's no changing someone's lifestyle and after 6 years, I was actually relieved when he cheated and left. ? I'm no neat freak but he was a borderline hoarder. No thanks.

Been living with my boyfriend for a year now. He moved in after six months together, and I was afraid it would be a similar outcome. Not at all. He's a wonderful house-mate and it's only brought us closer.

I don't see anything wrong with it and I understand why people do it. Personally I don't think it's necessary or that it necessarily helps. I read somewhere that people that live together before hand have the same divorce rate as people that don't (not that you can always trust statistics). My parents say they won't pay for my wedding if I live with my boyfriend before marrying. Not that thats a huge threat considering I plan to have my career well underway before getting married. I still think people are perfectly capable of deciding if they are compatible without actually living together. It's completely whatever works for the couple

I have been living with my SO for over 6 & 1/2 years. We plan to get married one day but financial reasons and me being in school are holding that back for now. I dont think I could marry someone without living with them first. That is just my opinion. People have their own habits and ways of doing things. I think it is better to make sure you arent going to kill each other. Lol

Yes, we did. It was a good choice for us personally. We got to discuss what kind of parents we wanted to be, what we wanted out of a marriage, and where we saw ourselves in a few years. I got to see him when he was sick and vise versa.
