My roommate just got the shingles which ,for those of you who don't know, is caused by the same virus as chicken pox, and you can only get the shingles if you've had chicken pox before, and if you haven't, you can get it if you are in contact with a person who has the shingles. And I'm not sure if I've had chicken pox before, so I'm just wondering if she touched her rash that's caused by the shingles, and then touched something else that I've also touched, could I get chicken pox then? Or is it just if I'm directly in contact with the rash myself?
