No baby WANTS their ears pierced. It's for the parents to play dress up with them like they are a little doll instead of a person with thoughts and feelings. If a child is old enough to express a desire for pierced ears in a way that indicates they understand the risks and responsibilities that go with it, then they should have them done, if you as a parent agree. Both should sign off on it.

We had my daughter at her 9-month wellness appointment and she was actually over 10 months old at the time. We chose to have her ears pierced because she's old enough to where she doesn't mess with them and she allows me to clean them. Also, her pediatrician has people in office for this specific reason and they pierce both ears at the same time. She wasn't getting any vaccinations during that appointment, so we weren't putting her through additional "stress". She did wonderfully and even though I was nervous before hand, I don't regret doing it all. If she decides later on she doesn't want them, she can just take them out. It's a lot easier to take a piercing out that you can't even remember getting versus being a 7+ year old and having them done one at a time when they will hurt worse. I had my ears pierced as an infant and can go years without wearing an earring without worrying about the hole closing. My sister had hers done at 13 and she's had them re-pierced 2 times since and she needs them done again. I think it's all personal preference and you do what you think! 😊

I think it just depends on what you want to do. My mom pierced my ears when I was a baby. I have four girls and none of their ears are pierced, I decided to make it a "special day" when they are 13 (If they want them), take them to the mall and get them a haircut too and just have a fun girls day. I just didn't see why babies need earrings haha. Idk plus me and my sisters all had them since birth and we could careless about earrings.

For us it's part of our culture, all baby girls get their ears pierced after 2 months, most places require vaccines to be up to date. I love them and I rather her get them now and she can take them off later if she wants! She was around 6 months here and they were healed perfectly and she never touched them. Don't let other people put you down if you do want them for her

Had my baby girl's ears pierced at 5 months and I was glad we did it because I could take care of the cleaning and make sure it was done right. My step daughters mom didn't have her ears pierced as a baby and opted to save that decision for her when she got older and honestly, my step daughter wished she was a baby when it happened so she wouldn't 'feel' the pain so to speak. I don't know- to each their own and no answer is THE right answer for a parent.

My daughter did not get her ears pierced as a baby. At 6 yrs old she asked me for it and we got it done then, a month ago actually. If this baby is a girl we'll be doing the same thing.

I think it's your own personal preference. my mom made me wait until I was in second grade to get them pierced. I got honor roll and she took me and I'll never forget it. it was such a memorable thing. so I'm doing the same with my daughter. when she's older than 4 & says she wants to then i will take her as an incentive type thing. but I think they are so adorable on infants!

No. Don't do it. Piercing guns can cause serious tissue damage.  And have no way of being sterilized.
