Working in prisons?!

I was just wondering if anyone else works in a prison... And what precautions, if any, you have taken or are planning to take.

I have informed my employer - but as yet, nothing has been mentioned and no changes have been made.

I'm also interested in the opinions of those who do not necessarily work in this environment.

Where I used to work the pregnant women would be at front entry or a control room.

Not quite similar, but I am a social worker and do home visits with clients, which can be potentially dangerous and never really know what I am walking into. I am taking the same precautions I did before being pregnant. I bring a supervisor or other social worker with me to more volatile situations. Make sure my whereabouts are always known including address time of appt. and anticipated length of visits. I Leave any situation I am not comfortable in.

If you are uk you are entitled to a risk assessment. So no loan working. Minimise risk of violence etc.

I work in a juvenile detention center and I'll be on light duty once my first trimester ends..control room only!

Just be more cautious yourself and make sure everyone is aware that you're pregnant 😊 I can't wait to tell everyone but we're still waiting for ulyrasound
