Vegitarian, Vegan?

Question

For any of you ladies on here that are vegitarian or vegan, can you answer a few questions? I'm trying to cut down on meat just for health reasons/weight reasons and I was just wondering a few things.

1. Which are you?
2. How did you get there? What made you decide to adopt this diet? 
3. What ways have you felt different from eating this way? Positives/negatives? 
4. What does eating in a day look like for you? Meals, snacks, what do you cook? 
5. What's your favorite dish?

The rule I basically follow is eat anything as long as you cook it yourself. You want French fries? Slice that potato and start frying. You want chocolate ice cream? You'll learn the easy way to make it (frozen banana and cocoa powder). I love easy vegan recipes especially for deserts.

2. Since birth. Never felt the need to eat meat later in life
3. Since I don't know the difference, not sure I can help you here
4. My weight lose + binge eating spree, 
7 AM - Morning warm water with honey and cinnamon (first thing in the morning)
9 AM - brocolli + carrot soup. Just boil the vegetables and blend it along with tiny bit of milk and almonds. I sometimes add flax seeds powder
11 AM - huge bowl of finely chopped fruits & vegetables- carrot, tomato, zucchini, raw mango, red & yellow bell peppers , pomegranate, apple, grapes 
12 Noon - 1 cup of green tea
1.15 PM - Indian lunch - includes rice/wheat + lentils + veggies
4 pm - 2 cups of green tea with either bread/ sweet potato (boiled)

7 PM - fruits / lentil pancake ( again Indian food)
Overnight - chocolates and/or junk ( I can't give it up!!!) and I sleep late.

But I do for a week, 
5x treadmill , 40 mins a day 
3x weights , 30 mins a day

Planning to start yoga 2x a day for 30 minutes

5. Anything with Cheese but lately am cutting it out because it is not helping in losing weight 
  
Since I exercise regularly and people have started noticing the changes, am more concious of not eating junk but I never say I can't eat anything because then I will crave it like hell.

I was a vegetarian for almost 12 years until I got pregnant. To be technical I ate seafood and consumed dairy but I just umbrella term it.

Honestly it started because I have a weird thing with myself and I give myself determination tests. So, I wanted to see how long I could go.

I ended up losing a lot of weight (60/70 lb).  When I started it wasn't so popular where I am so basically if you were a vegetarian you ate a lot of bread and potatoes because (in my case) I was 17 and didn't feel like researching. I lived on beer and sour patch kids. So obviously I don't recommend that.

throughout the years I matured and so did my eating habits. I make my own hummus and put that on so much. Avocado is a huge part of my diet. I use a lot of beans and legumes. I don't consume a lot of siy because of the health risks it's just not something I like to put into my body. I will eat it, just not a lot. I do love vegetarian hot dogs a lot for some reason though.

Homemade veggie or black bean burgers are so delicious and Pinterest is a HUGE help. I love quinoa, which is great by itself, in salad, as filler.

I could go on and on and idk if I'm really any help. I would still be one today except I really love turkey sandwiches.

I'm obviously not vegan or vegetarian, but for trying to eat better - when I eat organic I personally do a lot better. It tends to be a lot more filling so I eat less, and my digestive tract functions a lot better. 
Sorry if that does no favors just figured it might be pertinent. ☺️

My doctor really wants me to go vegan. He says I would be healthier. Him and his wife were raised vegan and still are.  
I was an anemic stick thin child and when I started refusing meat everyone thought I would get sick. My immediate family supported me. After about a month I had more energy and started gaining more weight 🙊(I had picked at my plates before because meat made me feel sick so I think that's connected to my gaining weight). My skin got glowy. After 3 months went for a blood test and I wasn't anemic anymore. I haven't been anemic since. My diet for iron was beans and dark green leafy greens. 
A day for me eating could be anywhere from lentil salads to mexican food to a whole loaf of fresh bread for lunch 😂 my point is that sometimes you don't eat picture perfect vegetarian and that's OK. It won't mess you over. 
I told my friend who has been anemic her whole life about it and so she started about a year ago eating vegetarian 4 days a week. They save lots of money and she isn't anemic anymore either. 
I recommend it just stay balanced. Some people go vegetarian and think it just means cutting out meat and eating the stuff they are used to eating without any new stuff. You need to add more lentils and beans. Occasionally soy based stuff but more like one meal every couple of weeks. 
The reason it can help with anemia is because you can be anemic eating the meat diet if you don't eat meat at every single meal. Most people don't.. And when it's switched up you start taking in different varieties of iron that boosts your iron. Protein is not something to worry about if you are taking in enough iron you 100% are getting above and beyond your daily need for protein.
If you 100% vegetarian or vegan I recommend vit B shots. The absorption is different from the pills when you take the oral vit B you absorb such minimal amounts that you can get sick. Same goes for anyone cutting out red meat. 
Unless you're eating a pound of dark greens everyday you need it.

We're halfway veggie, we do tbh are any ethical issues with eating meat but we do with the meat farming industry, so we only eat local ethical produce, and only maybe once a week. There is so much diverse stuff to cook. Our meal plan last week was jacket potatoes with beans and cheese, veggie chilli, homemade gnocchi with passata, tarkha dahl, tuna pasta bake (line and pole caught tuna) lentil moussaka and then Sussex potatoes which are basically jakcet potatoes stuffed with bacon cream cheese and sweetcorn.

I'm vegan. I went vegetarian at 4 y.o. because I found out that meat came from animals (more specifically the lamb that Mary had was the same one that was on our plates) and after about 11 years of being a vegetarian I went vegan because I learned more about the dairy and egg industries. I have felt the healthiest and most energized on a vegan diet and I have yet to experience the infamous protein deficiency that "all vegans have" 😂😂 But in all seriousness my health has only improved. I eat a lot of hummus usually with carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, and crackers. I also make pasta or potato tacos most nights for dinner. My favorite vegan dish when eating out is the soul food platter from Stuff I Eat, if anyone here is in LA I highly recommend checking it out. My favorite meal that I make is sushi- I use seaweed, rice, carrots, cucumbers, avocado, and umeboshi plum (sour pickled plum, it sounds gross but it tastes great!) I hope this helps.

oh here we are okay. 1) I am a vegetarian, but will not eat eggs or drink milk unless it's baked into something. 2) I am a super compassionate person and after researching and watching some super biased doc's I decided it was not necessary to eat other beings. So I cut out all meat except chicken for a year, then all meat, then eggs. 3) positives? I feel better. less bloated, I am sick way less often, little to no chance of food poisoning, I eat a bigger variety of foods, I actually didn't lose any weight... negatives, people shoving meat in my face, arguing wih me all the time, judging me, etc/:  4+5) I love avocado. I'll honestly just have avo on it's own for a meal if I'm lazy. lots of toast, pasta (that's another negative, I eat way more carbs now... but I'm an athlete so it's chill😎), I love trail mix and all kinds of nuts, stir fry (throw in every vegetable I can find, garlic, salt.), potatoes any way, salads obviously, mushroom or cauliflower steaks, KALE CHIPS 😍, caprese (I eat cheese sorry), grilled cheese, cauliflower wings..... it's really not hard to find something to eat. I usually avoid immitation meats. so ya👍🏽😬
