I was told by the pharmacist that I could only take soothers as they have no medicine in. Maybe worth asking your local pharmacist?

To be honest your better having plenty fluids. If it's not going to hurt you don't take anything not even paracetamol. They are only recommended for high fever not for sore throats and colds in first trimester. It's awful being ill but if it's viral it will pass if it's bacterial lozengers won't do anything anyway and will need to see a dr.
