So I had my baby 7 weeks early was in the NICU for 2 weeks and it was hard for him to latch on the breast so I pumped and bottled fed. I also would try the nipple shield here and there but it was such a pain to use it and it was so messy. I kept using it though and finally one day I was like lets try and not use it and as long as I squirt a little milk out he will latch on with out a nipple shield. Now he will look for it and knows that's where milk is coming from. I felt like giving up cause pumping is a lot of work especially when your out and about and after a couple of hours I was so engourged that all I wanted was to come home and pump. Now I can feed him anywhere, and I'm soooo proud of my preemie he had no issues with breathing when he was born. He's gaining a good amount of weight, and he's getting better and better at breastfeeding. Preemie moms don't get discouraged it can happen they can breastfeed!
