Blood tests for gender?

Has anyone in this group heard about the new blood test that can tell you the gender of your baby at 8-9 weeks along and can also tell you early on if  your baby has Down syndrome?

It's called the Harmony test here in Canada and they don't do it until you're 10 weeks along. Basically it's just a blood test, but because your blood contains fragments of your babies DNA, they use this DNA-based technology to identify whether your baby has a chance of having Down Syndrome. There is also an option to test for the fetal sex as well. 
Are you having this test done? 
We went through multiple IUIs so we're pretty sure we're doing it to be safe but I don't think we're going to find out our babies sex.
It's an additional $700 here for us to have the test done.

Yes I had it with my first. Mine was called maternity21.  I loved knowing right away.
