Period

Does spotting count as a period? This month I got a spotting period but not heavy at all I could only see the spotting when I wipe and it wasn't red like a period but brown the whole time. I'm always hungry and some times my boobs hurt me and my bf are trying to have a baby after we miscarried his first baby I have two kids but both didn't find out until like 3 or 4 months I keep taking test but they all come out negative... Help what are your thoughts
