Anxiety about labor

Elizabeth
I am seriously causing myself great anxiety anticipating the birth of my second child (I'm 19 weeks). My first labor and delivery was full of vomit, shaking and an epidural  issue that left me singing the old Johnny Cash song "ring of fire". On top of that I had a pretty severe postpartum hemmorhage. I know all labor and deliveries are different and I shouldn't expect an exact repeat, but I cannot help freaking myself out thinking about how badly it hurt! The first time I didn't know what to expect and how an epidural was supposed to work. I got it around 8 (?) and I started pushing at 10- baby born at 1210. I did not feel contractions after the epidural but soon after I started pushing I felt the tearing, ripping and burning. It was AWFUL.  Any suggestions on how to ensure my epidural works as it should?
