Tell me about your mittelschmerz!

So, I'm 27 and ttc for the first time with my husband. I've been on hormonal birth control since I was 14 years old (minus the one month that I had an oops and got pregnant with my son) for the first time since being off birth control in January I've experienced mittelschmerz the past two months. It's wretched! How many of you ladies experience this?
