Cervical foley balloon catheter

I have to get the foley balloon catheter to begin my induction on Thursday, and I was just wanting to hear everyone's experience with it since I've never had it before. It sounds sort of terrifying but you gotta do what you gotta do... Did labor start on its own afterwards? Or how many centimeters dilated did it get you to before it came out? Any other information would be great too :)
