Is he hiding something from me?

Question

I went to the doctor yesterday and while listening to my babies heart beat the doctor made a face and said do you hear that it sounds ok. Then he went on to say see me in two weeks and we might do an ultrasound but we might not. Like what is that?!

I'm almost 100% positive if he thought there was something wrong he would have mentioned it or looked further into the problem to make sure everything was okay. He's a doctor, I can't see him hiding it if he thought the heartbeat didn't sound right. Try not to over think it too much. I'm sure your baby is just fine. And if there does end up being a problem he was trying to hide from you.. Then switch doctors. Hope that isn't the case though. Good luck!

It is also your responsibility to make sure you ask all the questions that need to be asked. It's your body and if you want to know, you ask. Don't be bashful when you go to the doctor.

I don't think it's too much to worry about as of right now. Wait to see what happens at your next appointment. Sorry he made a face to make you worry, I'd be questioning too. Maybe call your doctor to double check?

My dr paused while listening lifted it then put it down and felt around and listened more. 
I asked him immediately if everything was fine and he said "he would never let me walk out of here if he thought something was wrong"
I know the feeling- call your dr and get clarity so that you have piece of mind

The only reason I could think of him not telling you on the spot is if he was sending the scans to a radiologist. Different doctors work within different specialties. Try to relax and not stress. Something similar happened to me my first pregnancy and everything was fine. It is their job to look for abnormalities because if they miss one it could cost them their job and reputation.
