Pumping to induce labor?

Question

Has anyone tried it? I'm 40+2 and desperate to get this kid out so I just pumped for a good 15-20 minutes. While I haven't had any contractions, I did end up expressing what I assume is colostrum. I'm just not sure if I should keep what I expressed or just toss it?  Any advice would definitely be appreciated!

I tried the other night and couldn't get anything consistent going. I might try again today...not sure. I'm 40+1 as of today and so beyond ready!!

I pumped for fifteen minutes around 10pm and got about as much as you did, then went to bed.. And my water broke at midnight! Not sure if it was the pumping or not, but it definitely seemed to work!

I tried this morning, I've been having contractions for days but they aren't consistent and only a few have produced any pain. I got about as much as you but I decided to dump it since I hadn't sterilized the bottles yet and didn't feel like it was even worth it to save. A newborn baby's stomach is about the size of a marble though, so it could be a meal if you do want to save it. You can always mix it with a little formula later if you're having trouble producing.

Do not toss it! Keep it in the fridge or freezer! I did some pumping before baby came, but it didn't help her to get here any quicker. She was almost 2 days late.

I totally tried it! For like a week straight and nothing happened haha. I personally wouldn't keep it you'll be making plenty and won't want to give the baby a bottle yet anyway (if you're breastfeeding) . If you're not nursing them heck yeah keep it!
