Baby girl couldn't wait!

Elisabeth

My daughter was due April 18th.

After having prodromal labor for 12 days I finally had a full 24 hr break from the contractions yay!

But at 10 pm on Saturday night they hit and hit hard. Strong contractions every 10 minutes I waited to see if they would ease up or grow closer. At midnight I woke my husband up they were already 5 minutes apart. We grabbed our bags and the kids so we could drop them off at grandmas. She only lives a few minutes from us but by the time we left her house they were four minutes apart. Arrived at the hospital at 1am easter Sunday morning when I arrived they were three minutes apart.

Unfortunately for me even tho it sounds like I was getting ready to drop this kid in the hallway that wasn't the case. I labored naturally all night with nothing for pain contractions 3 min it's apart I was dilating slowly so they kept me but couldn't help things move along because I was 36.6 and I have to be 37 weeks for them to help. I labored all day Sunday naturally every 2 minutes I stalled at a 5cm but the contractions kept rolling in relentlessly 1-2 mins apart all night Sunday night.

They came in and gave me a shot of morphine in my thigh and a morphine drip to try to help me get some rest. I rested in small increments and by 7 am I had my bloody show and had started slowly dilating again.

At this point I was full term since Monday I turned 37 weeks. My midwife came in and we disused and chose the epidural because I was exhausted! I got the epidural at 10 am my waters broken at 12 and was still having a hard time progressing and we couldn't figure out why my other 2 were born quickly. Even tho I didn't want it we started pitocin at 5pm to help things progressed by 730 pm my epidural quit working and I went into transition at 8 pm and by 9 pm it was excruciating but I was using Bradley method prayer and Christian music to get me thru. At 935 I felt a lot of pressure but they came in and said I was only at a 8.5 and to give it a little bit longer. Within 10 minutes I felt the urge to push it hurt so bad trying now to push. My husband ran out and got the nurse and midwife and sure anough I was ready to push! She was coming out at a odd angle and my midwife had to reach in and twist her some I literally growled when her head came out. That ring of fire is no joke! When her shoulder came out tho I roared! Lol and then I was bawling because they laid her on my stomach! 3 weeks early 6lbs 1 oz 18.5 in and absolutely perfect in every way!

Found out her cord was extremely short and that's why we couldn't progress. She is worth all the pain that my 48hr labor brought. Welcome to the world Reagan!
