Breastfeeding pain

I am pretty positive my son has a good latch. It looks and feels like he does, but my nipples are still so sore. My son is 2 1/2 weeks but I have only been breastfeeding exclusively for about a week and a half or so. My nipples are a little cracked but they are not bleeding or anything. When does the pain stop? After a full day and night of exclusively breastfeeding, I feel like I need to take a break and I let my husband feed him bottles that I have pumped.
