I think these parties everyone is having is a bit much. Just another excuse for a lot of people to get gifts it seems. I want to have the dr write it down for my husband and I so we can open it in private and find out together. No need for all the crazy parties.

Eh. I think a reveal between the parents is cute.
But like, having a party to tell everyone "surprise! My child will have a vagina/penis/undefined sex characteristics!" Is a little... weird. Not everyone needs to know what's between a persons legs.

Eh, its overkill if you're having a shower too. And like someone else said, its a little weird to have a party about the fact that your kid has a vagina or penis.

I also can't stand the PINK VS. BLUE mentality. Of course not everyone does this for showers/reveals, but a lot do. Its either OMG ITS A GIRL PINK PINK PINK!!! or OMG A BOY BLUE BLUE BLUE!!! 
And that just makes me ...ugh... How can you stand SO MUCH of one color?! For the rest of their childhood! I'd tone it down a lot, and just enjoy all the colors, not focus so much on their gender...

I found out with my first. With my second we didn't find out at all. And we decided on a name for both gender and kept those a secret too! Not even my mother knew. But I know she wouldn't like it .... Kezia. So yea we kept it secret and the gender reveal we were the first to know and she was perfect! I say don't find out. I'm the most impatient person ever and it was so worth the wait

I don't think its ridiculous. We plan to do a gender reveal with all our future children. We want to do a baby shower and get gender neutral things so we can reuse the crib, car seat, extra. Then we plan to reveal the sex later on as well as the name we picked for the baby. 
You don't like gender reveals don't have them, simple as that.

If it's a separate party yes but if it's a simple Facebook post or part of the baby shower then I think that's ok.

I think it's a little overboard to have it as a party (unless it's combined with the baby shower) because then people might feel pressured to buy 2 gifts or just be confused lol.

But I think a gender reveal baby shower or photo for facebook is a really idea!
