When do I hear the heartbeat?

Question

I have my second midwife appointment in a couple of weeks and by then I'll be 10 weeks and 4 days! 
Will she check the heartbeat for me or will they do that at the scan a couple of weeks after that?

Answer

Sometimes a Doppler can pick up a heartbeat that early. I think they have with all of mine at 10 weeks.
