20 years old and I feel clueless

I'm 20, almost 21 and I feel like I have no idea how to shave my lady parts! Hahahaha I feel so embarrassed and dumb. But everytime I do it I ALWAYS get red bumps, or end up having some small cuts. I use a new razor everytime if not new it's only been used like 4 other times. So it's not super old or used. I tried shaving cream, conditioner, almost any trick it feels like! Can someone please help me? Hahahh I get so embarrassed when I go to have sex with my husband cause I feel like it makes me look gross with red bumps all over /:
