When should I first see my OB?

I just switched to an OB that is much closer to me than my old one, and I have heard he is very good. When I called to get an appt. his office said that he doesn't see patients until they are at least 12 weeks. Is that normal? I don't want to wait that long for my first visit! ?

See, I personally don't agree with having to wait so long. I had a ruptured ectopic back 2003 at 8 weeks (right around the time it happens) so for both of my subsequent pregnancies (lucky) I made my appointment as soon as I got a positive home test just to monitor HcG and progesterone.

​Either way, I think quite a few (not all of course, because of different complications) miscarriages can be prevented if your hormones are properly monitored from the beginning.

My doctors said they didn't need to see me until 8 weeks & scheduled me according to how far along the thought Inwas. I ended up being over 12 weeks when they finally saw me anyway.

I think that may depend on the area you live in. I called my dr today to tell her about my bfp yesterday n I have my OB appt with her the 13th
