Should I use our status to embarrass my boyfriend, or stop?

So before you jump me, we've been together 7 years, 8 in june, and he doesn't believe in marriage.

It's just a tax break.

It's just a piece of paper.

We are already tied together, (shared bank account, both on house, own a business together...).

We always file taxes separately, so there isn't a common law marriage.

But despite the fact that he doesn't want to marry me, he calls me his wife constantly.

I told him that we are not married so he should not call me that.

He said he gets embarrassed and says I am so much more than a girlfriend.

So when he tries to introduce me as his wife I say, "no, I'm his girlfriend. I'm a girl, and his friend, and his girlfriend.... of seven years."

He gets pissy about it and will huff and say, "yeah I meant girlfriend."
