Descretely get birth control?

I'm a young teenager that's sexually active, my mother is catholic and super aginst it and she believes I am a virgin. Me and my s/o use a condom so there's no STI's or pregnancy but I want to make sure I'm 100% safe. I told my mom my periods were bad and I wanted a type of birth control but she is aginst it because she believes birth control gave her the cancer. How do I get my hands on birth control without her knowing. I know it's bad to lie but I'd rather be safe. Thanks!!!

Your mom sounds like a very caring woman, I think her intentions are really good and I think she would want to know about the situation you are in. She is against birth control for a reason and has some very legitimate reasons to be against it. I would challenge you to heed your mothers advice and even though it sounds mortifying, open up to her. She is your mom and loves you SO very much and really truly wants what's best for you. I would be heartbroken if my daughter was in this situation and didn't come to me. It sounds like you need your mom more than ever now, don't let shame keep you from being honest with her, honey. Challenge yourself to consider why it is she is against birth control and against sex outside of marriage, consider your own values as well and make sure your actions line up to these values. If a boy won't date you because you won't have sex he isn't a boy worth dating. You are worth someone who loves you and respects you and your values and your body. You're so young and have your whole life ahead of you so please be careful and please tell your mother. Best of luck.

My mum still thinks I'm a virgin but let me tell you I'm not 😂 after a pregnancy scare that my boyfriend and I had I decided to get the implant which is a rod that goes under the skin in the arm and is not visible unless you show someone! My mum doesn't know about it, how did I get it done with out her knowing? Well I booked a doctors appointment and told my mum I went to a friends house that day (which i did bc my friend came with me) and she gave me a prescription then I "went to my friends house" again (I went to the doctors) and I got it inserted! The bruising lasted a week but other than that it's great I guess bc it last 3 years!

I think it's also better for you to be safe. Is there perhaps a way you can get yourself to a women's health clinic without your mum knowing? Perhaps catching the bus or having a friend's mum take you. Or maybe just keep insisting to your mum that your periods are terrible and she needs to take you to the doctor. Then go into the consult room by yourself and explain the situation to your doctor. They have to keep it confidential and would probably also want you on birth control to keep you safe
