Chest infection help?!

I have a chest infection but there's a lump of mucus stuck in my chest which I cannot cough up, my body won't stop coughing till the point I have been sick! How can I get rid of it?

Try steam or a hot shower. I have asthma and this helps get the mucous out of my chest
