If I have symptoms of uti but am told I don't have it what else could it be?

If your doctor confirmed that you don't have a UTI, he should be able to tell you what is going on. I would ask him

Ugh, I had a doctor (not obgyn, but my regular doc before I was pregnant) tell me it wasn't a UTI-- after too many days of pain and discomfort, I went back and had more tests done, and sure enough, it WAS a UTI. Persist and get more tests done. It could be a bladder or kidney problem also, that's not an infection per se, but a problem that's causing pain. It could also be a nerve issue, where baby is compressing a nerve and causing similar pain to a UTI. Drink plenty of fluids and cranberry juice in the meantime until you can talk with your doc again. Also, heating pad where it hurts to see if it could be a nerve thing-the heat usually helps me when it is.
