Side Effect of the Pill?

I started getting really bad Charley Horses in my right leg, when I told my mom about it she said she used to get them too from taking birth control. Is this common or should I be more concerned?

Answer

It depends on the form of birth control. When I was on the Depo shot my doctor told me to take Calcium supplements everyday. I didn't listen to him for the first 6 months and I was waking up with Charlie  Horses every night. Taking the calcium really helped!
