Finger tip dilated ?

How much is a fingertip dilated ? Doctor also said I'm 50% effaced and cervix is thinning. Also said I'm half way there? I'm 36 weeks and 4 days. Does this mean I could go early?

Most women are a fingertip dilated the whole time if it's not your first. By halfway there they were talking about your effacement.

A fingertip is half a centimeter. I had to ask that last week. I've been there for like three weeks now :/

I have no idea what "finger tip dilated" means but I am currently 38 weeks +1 day, and 3cm dilated (or banana dilated! Lol). This is what I use lol. Maybe fingertip dilated means the size of your fingertip?

Most of the time for first time moms your thin before you dilate. With my daughter I was a 3 from 37 weeks until I went into labor at 39 5.  This time around I was a 2 from 35 5 to 38 5 and then finally went to a 3

If I can fit my entire finger in a cervix u call her 1cm. So a fingertip is just slightly open, less than 1cm.

With my first I was 3cm for like a month, so it really has no connection with how early/fast labor will come.... This time I'm at a 2cm, since 35 weeks.. I'm almost 38 now.

You could but more than likely, not too early. Ive always been dilated 2-3 cm and effaced for about a month before and my kids were all only a couple days early.
