How long are you with someone before you start considering marriage or children?

I have only been with my boyfriend for almost 5 months. I was in a previous relationship for about 2 years and was engaged at 15 years old (way too young). I am 20 now and I know I have found the right man for me. Is it too soon to start considering a life with him?

You don't want to get married when the relationship is still in its  "honeymoon stage"   Give it a couple of years. When you can be together because you actually love each other and not just the lust then you know it will be a happy marriage. He has to be your best friend. Someone you can count in. I would wait a few years. People change as they get older. If you 2 can grow together then it's worth being together. Good luck :)

I was with my SO 15 months. 7 of which was deployment. Got engaged and married in 4 months. So much is poping out of nowhere that I didn't see in him before. Wait 2 years! It's hard for someone to hide their true self for that long. It worth the time trust me!

There really is no set answer. It all depends on a mixture of emotions, stability, and communication. My SO told me he wasn't looking for just a girlfriend in me but a wife- and that was only after 3 months of us dating. We didn't start making actual wedding plans until recently (we've been together for 2.5 years already) but we KNEW after 6 months that we were "the one" for each other. And I use the term "the one" loosely..... The person that's meant for you isn't the guy you've been dreaming up since you were 13; it's the man who genuinely cares for you, is intelligent, works hard, has the same goals, and someone you can have OPEN COMMUNICATION with. Trust me when I say you will know when that person comes along.

Yeah exactly what Candace said. Me and my man were best friends first, started dating, and are coming up on our four year mark. We have talked about marriage and future children but are in no rush. We're together right now and that's all I need cause I know we want to be together. No need to rush a label, it's our love and caring for each other that's important and we can still do that without being married right away :)

It doesn't really matter how long you have been together to start a family, if you both want the same thing. I was 5 months pregnant when I met my SO and he went through everything with me and even cut the umbilical cord when my daughter was born
