Do you use a pacifier?

My baby is so fussy, he cries hysterically until I'm able to soothe him. I really didn't want to use one and he's already 8 weeks. Should I wait out the 3 months or get a paci?

We didn't want to use one and lucky for us our baby doesn't like pacifiers. You could try the noise from a crinkle book or musical toy to try and soothe your baby. It worked for us but I know all babies are different. I find gently swaying and patting my child's back while softly 'shushing' helps.

If I don't give her a pacifier she tries to shove her whole hand in her mouth to suck on. She was actually born with a blister on her finger from sucking in the womb. I'd rather have her on a pacifier then her thumb. You can take the pacifier away but not the thumb. And some babies just like to suck.

My baby doesn't like the pacifier but does suck his thumb sometimes. The doctor said thumb suckers are usually better sleepers because it's easier for them to self-soothe. He has been sleeping through the night for the most part for the past two months.

everyone from my boyfriends side is pressuring me to use a paci when she gets fussy, but I'm against it (so is my family). when she cries, I panic because she screams so loud and it hurts me to see her like that. after I've tried everything, changing, feeding, burping.. I usually take her outside if it's not dark (because of the mosquitos). she loves the fresh air. and if that doesn't work, I turn on my White Noise app on my iPhone. it has worked wonders!! she likes he vacuum one the most, it calms her right down. but sometimes she prefers music. just thought I would share my alternatives to using pacis :)

We used a pacifier from day 1 and my son had *zero* problems :) we no longer use it because he just doesn't care for it anymore. He is on to drinking from a cup now and is not caring for his bottle 😭

We did no paci until 3mo and by then he didn't really want to/know how to use it so now He only does rarely or occasionally like in car. I was so nervous about it when he was real little and breastfeeding/nipple confusion- looking back I probably could have used it to help with our insanity but who knows at the time I was adamant against it so I totally understand if you are too!
