My birth story: Arabella Grace!

Necole
Meet our precious lady! She's absolutely perfect, from her crooked little nose to her tiny little toes, 😍
She was born Wednesday, March 30th at 11:13am. She's 7lbs, 4 ozs and 19.5 inches long. :) successful VBAC!
Here's our story:
I was 41 weeks and 1 day when the Dr inserted the foley bulb catheter Tuesday, the 29th. I had been stuck at 1 cm and 50% effaced for 3 weeks. I was SO nervous the night before insertion because I have a love/ hate relationship with Google and came across some horror stories. But I actually had no problem with it. I had it inserted around 4 pm. The speculum was definitely the worse part, I honestly didn't even notice he had inserted it and filled it with saline because I was so focused on the speculum pain, lol. It was a little awkward having the tubing just sit in my panties for hours, haha. I started having mild contractions within the hour of having it inserted. My husband and I went for a walk around 8 and the catheter came out on it's own around 8:30 when I went to the bathroom. It had a good bit of Mucus plug and a small amount of bloody mucus but absolutely no pain associated with it falling out. We walked another mile and the cramps were definitely more noticeable, I knew the foley bulb has done it's job. So we headed to bed around 10:30. Woke up around 12am with some steady contractions. Steady, but ranging from 3 to 7 minutes apart so still irregular. I labored at home until around 3:15am, that's when they seemed to have picked up a steady 3-4 minutes apart. We Arrived at the hospital around 3:45. They checked and said I was at a 'Laboring 4' and about 70% thinned. The dr broke my water at 6:35. Started a low dose of pitocin at 7:10. Which kick started the cramps. They were steady and very, very painful. I asked for IV pain meds around 7:00 am but turns out my IV was impacted and the medicine didn't actually get through. We didn't know that so when, in my eyes, the meds weren't touching the pain, I asked for an epidural around 7:30. However, due to the impacted IV, I wasn't receiving the fluids either so I didn't get the epidural until 8:10am, I was 5 cm at this point. Things were smooth sailing from there. I was fully dilated at 10:20 am. I started pushing around 10:43 and and she was born at 11:13 am!
Overall, I definitely had a much better better experience this go having her vaginally than having a c section with my first. We've been blessed with our little rainbow baby and she couldn't be more perfect, 😍
She's certainly making things easy on me, she's a natural breastfeeder. My first time so I'm so thankful she's doing so well. *knock on wood*!Â
