Do you believe drugs are acceptable within.your community?

Do you believe drugs are acceptable?  I live in Charleston, West Virginia, USA.  My state is the worst off drugs, the President has came here over the drug controversy. Basically, the only thing to do here is get trashed, stay inside, or leave. I have lost so many friends to overdosing, and getting murdered over the drug deals. I just want to know what everyone else thinks. Think of your community, is this acceptable?

I personally think it depends on the typeof  drugs. I think it's fine to have every once in awhile. Weed? Sure. Uppers every once in a while partying? Okay. Shrooms when you're in a safe place? Why not? Heroin, crack, PCP, etc. I'm not very tolerant on. Reason being is that it's really hard to come back from that. Getting hooked on those harder drugs is almost a guaranteed life ruiner. It's a waste. I feel like recreational drug use is okay if you are still able to keep it together.

weed, mushrooms, salvia, acid, those are all acceptable. anything else is highly addictive, and never ever acceptable anywhere to me.

I think focusing on drug crimes is taking the attention away from more dangerous crimes. People are getting away with serious shit in favor of someone who got arrested for possession.

I was born and raised in Beckley, WV so I know firsthand what you are talking about! I had my daughter in Charleston at Women's and Children's. The drug issues are absolutely insane and even now that I live in Virginia, I still see numerous people getting arrested for drugs and even doctors/nurses being arrested for supplying prescription drugs unnecessarily. It's ridiculous and it breaks my heart. My aunt has been addicted for many years and seeing what she's gone through makes me stay away from it all. I don't think doing drugs is okay.

I'm trying to think how to answer this.
It's a problem everywhere. I think some people are exposed to it more than others and therefore "acceptable" depends on your own viewpoint? I don't know if that makes sense.
I live in a city. Of course we have drug issues. I know people who use drugs occasionally, sure. But I don't participate in a cohort where that's the norm, and so therefore that behavior is unacceptable.

I'm my community as in then people who live here, it's acceptable somewhat. Everyone around the ages of 15-29 are doing drugs occasionally for fun or just recreational use. Weed, cocaine, pain pills and Xanax, Molly are the drugs commonly acceptable for people to do on the weekends for fun. Most people in northern Cali have the same views.  But drugs like heroin and meth are out, if you are doing these drugs your considered a knock or a druggie. Most people I've known throughout my life have just grown up and moved on with their lives after experimenting with these drugs. I've lived all over Cali, it seems to be the same everywhere.

grew up in Ripley, WV and I know of girls who were just out of middle school who were addicted to heroin. the worst part is that when Obama actually came to talk to Charleston, there were so many people there harassing him over the mines and shit instead of focusing on the matter at hand. but that's West Virginia for you lmao.

I support total drug legalization/decriminalization. Along with regulation and services available to help people get off them or at least be safer about using. I'm particularly in favor of legal marijuana dispensaries.

Drugs are already in my community, there's better ways to deal with that  fact than what we're doing now.
