Imagine that powerful aliens were to visit earth, with the ability to eradicate war, famine and suffering. The aliens say that they will do this, and turn the world into a utopia where humans will be happy and peaceful forever more, but only if a price is paid. They demand a small child be given to them so that they can perform hideous scientific experiments on it, causing the child unimaginable pain.
