How does this stuff make you feel?

Question

Before anyone kills me for how I personally feel. I'm only using this photo as it was the first one I saw and is really just an example to what I mean. 
I personally don't get the whole "can I get this many likes for (insert whatever it is about)" I completely understand and get someone wanting to spread out information or their happiness. But what is likes going to do exactly? Or what really gets me is the ones like "I'll quit smoking or whatever for this many likes" I just personally don't get the point of it.

How does everyone else feel about it? And if you do know any reason that seems reasonable as to why anyone does the whole "can I get this many likes..etc" please let me know and I'll happily change my thoughts.

They're bullshit. You know what would actually help a person with cancer? Going and visiting. Asking what they need.

It's bull. At least most of them. I got really annoyed at one where it was a newborn baby and the message said he died moments after the pic was taken... With copyright stamps from a stock photo website all over it! My cousin in law types amen constantly on these bs posts. And then they show on my feed. It's uber annoying.

I've seen so many of these where the text is photoshopped, and literally 99% of the time the pictures are stolen from the OP and reposted just so their notifications blow up, so yeah.

That specific example would maybe make the child feel better. The smoking one, could be sort of a sense of motivation for the person. Other things like "like this or you'll have bad luck" that's just stupid

I never share them... Does that masked me awful?  That child doesn't care about likes!  She cares that she gets to live

These things drive me nuts.  I have a friend who likes, shares, and comments "Amen" for all these things.  The ones that piss me off the most are the random pics of deformities or preemies that claim you'll die or have bad luck if you don't type "Amen" and share

I think they're pointless.  If it's a post trying to spread information or raise awareness about a particular illness or issue then I understand,  but so many are just sob pictures asking for likes or shares. And the ones that try to guilt you saying like/share/comment if you don't want this kid to die or you're happy they're alive or such like are just infuriating, implying that if you don't do it you're an awful person.  As if people liking or sharing a stupid post on Facebook can have any impact on the health of the person in the picture. I have a few friends and relatives who show up on my timeline with this kind of stuff and I've just started hiding their content from my feed.  
If you want to do something to help a cause get up and do something that actually helps. Don't pretend that clicking like or share on Facebook is the same and contributes.

If it makes them happy then whatever but I never like them. I am always suspicious that the text is photoshopped too.

Maybe it makes the child in question feel like they have support?? I really don't know to be honest
