Ok so I was just joking with one of my old high school friends and I said "I have to shave my legs and I would rather die. You're lucky you're a boy." And he responded with "right I'm lucky to be a gender that will serve no purpose in 10 years." After I told him that was completely untrue he said he would no longer have the conversation. How can someone honestly feel that way? I'm baffled. He also has three sisters and I feel like if that's how he's going to be about it then he is against them doing well. His sisters went to college and do well. He lives in his parents basement and doesn't go to school and almost never has a job. I feel like his experiences stem from being lazy. Not from being a privileged white male. Do people realize that women served no purpose other than childbearing till recent history? We just want to be seen as equal. What do you all think? Has anyone had similar experiences?
