New born & Breastfeeding.

About how many poo & pee diapers a day should a newborn make in order for me to know if he's really getting enough of my milk. He wants to be breastfeed all the time and it makes me wonder if he's not getting enough or if this is normal? He's 5 days old by the way. 🍼🍼

Babies cluster feed at the start because their stomachs are only small so they can only take a small amount in at a time, plus it's tiring for them to do the suckling at first. My baby used to feed almost every half hour in the first 2 weeks, now she's almost 6 weeks an still sometimes feeds hourly through the day. I change her nappy every 3 hours at the longest and aslong as it's wet everytime I don't worry too much!! Also with poos I've heard different things, one nurse told me breastfeed babies poo more, the other one said they can go 6 days without pooing 🙈 so god knows!! If your baby is content and not screaming then id say they are getting enough!! Cluster feeding can be straining at first but you get used to it :)

My little guy goes through days where he wants to eat constantly. I swear I only get like a half an hour break, but he's getting enough because he's gaining weight well. Keep offering it to him, so your milk supply increases! It's exhausting, but he will start to get into a routine eventually.
