How do you just give up?

Question

My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant with our first child for about 1 1/2 years now and still nothing. It's all we think about. People say to just forget about it, but how do you do that? My husband is in the military and everyone around us has kids! How do I just give up?

I understand you a lot !! Same boat same situation and same year of trying ! Everyone around me get married and the month after they got pregnant !!!! Very happy for them...but did god forgot us ?? And every one told me to do not think about it,is not that simple !

I feel your pain! My husband is in the military too and everywhere I go on base women are pregnant or have babies and kids. When I went to the OBGYN to talk to the doctor about my fertility issues, there were 10 women in the waiting room with me and all of them were pregnant except me. It hurt so bad! Just keep praying and believe its going to happen. I try to stay busy and get out of the house and do fun things with my husband. Good luck!

You throw yourself into something. The last 2 times I have had lofty goals (and even signed up and paid for) of completing a 50k trail run I get pregnant and it ruins my plans. Is there anything you love? Something you want to accomplish? Somewhere you want to go?

I think people say to just for get about it but one they haven't been there or two they just want you to try and focus on something else for a month. I had a friend who was trying to get pregnant for about 12 years she was so focused on just having a baby that she didn't care about her own health. So after a bit of time she took care of herself lost weight and then she moved she told me that she still wanted to have a baby but was giving up on the thought of her having the baby so she was going to adopt. This is something I asked her years before to consider. As soon as she relaxed and focused her time on being healthy she became pregnant. And now has two children.

Maybe just forget about trying. Focus on your life and your husband. Don't think about TTC so much. It always tends to happen when you least expect it. I'm sorry it's taking so long, and good luck. ?
